I was recently asked to look into rumors that the voice cast of "The Powerpuff Girls" did not accept the terms of their new contract, resulting in a decision by Cartoon Network to hold auditions to replace the cast with sound-alikes.

This news has now been confirmed by the webmaster of Tara Strong's official site, who has uploaded a statement from Craig and Tara Strong (the voice of Bubbles) which reads,"Unfortuately, the rumors are true. We feel that CN will comearound and that they'll see that Tara and the others are irreplaceable. Tara is extremely upset as she loves the character [Bubbles] that she created." At this point, "the agents and producers are still communicating, but they are searching and threatening ... that is the biz."
