"New" Kid Rhino CD at Wal-Mart
Sat Oct 23 19:12:27 1999

Tonight at Wal-Mart I saw many copies of a "new" Christmas CD from Kid Rhino called "Merry Christmas:
"Animaniacs and Looney Tunes". It's yet another bargain-priced collection with tracks from previous Rhino CDs. It's $9.96 and has 10 tracks. 5 are from Animaniacs "Hip-Hop Christmas" and 5 from "Have Yourself a Looney Tunes Christmas".

Another Pokémon Movie
Thu Oct 21 11:33:27 1999

Yep. The first one hasn't even screened and WB has signed over the rights for another one. Seems a risky move to me... the fad could have died down by then, not to mention the fact that we haven't even seen how the first one will do at the box office.

Anyway, below is the info from the slightly-opinionated ign.com.

Rabid, frothing Pikachu fans rejoice! Another Pokémon movie is on the way. The New York Daily News reports that Time Warner Inc. executives have approved a second installment of the upcoming Pokémon movie despite the fact that it still hasn't even hit US shores.

Pokémon: The First Movie, which opens across the US November 12, was Japan's fourth-highest grossing movie last year, pulling in more than $53 million. Nintendo of America expects similar, if not vastly better results with the release of the movie in the States.

While the sequel is likely still a long way off from its American release, sources have learned that it is filled with yellow, blue, green, red, and orange stuffed animal-esque mutants that scream with girly voices and generally make older viewers want to vomit.

WB traps Wayans' animated 'Roaches'

Warner Bros. plunked down mid-six figures against high-six figures for "Roaches," a comedy animation feature pitch from Marlon and Shawn Wayans, Buddy Johnson and Michael Anthony Snowden. The four scribes will collaborate on the script for "Roaches," which will center on a class struggle in the insect world. Various insect species will represent different races and the various socioeconomic levels of our society. The Wayans brothers, who will also lend their voices to the feature, are attached to produce with Billy Gerber, who brought the pitch to the studio. The Wayanses are expected to be additionally compensated for their performances and producing duties.

On The Ropes??
Tue Oct 19 18:05:09 1999

Hey, what happened to "On The Ropes?" Is Kids' WB! picking it up? My guess is no. Besides, it wouldn't really work on an all animation kids net. BTW, here are the low-downs on new animation shows for the WB Network and Kids WB!, most are known already:

* The Oblongs (based on some book)
* Osmosis Jones (soon to be renamed)
* Max Steel
* Baby Blues

On a side note, The WB's animated "Mission Hill" has been put on hold until midseason after 2 episodes.
