Animated
Superman & Looney Tunes on the Web

Some of you may remember my
posting this news a few weeks ago, but they announced
today that http://www.entertaindom.com will launch
next Monday with programming that "will include
an animated talk show, "The God and Devil
Show;" "Cartoon Cinema," with Looney
Tunes cartoons; [and] a three-dimensional
"Superman" show".

for further details.
The "Superman show" mentioned is that "Multipath
Adventures of Superman - The Menace of Metallo"
thing I mentioned. I finally loaded my copy of this
last week and it turned out to be pretty good after
all. The CGI animation is fair even if character
movement and facial expressions are a little stiff,
but the voice performances are pretty good and the
story isn't bad either. And the sound quality is great
- I'll give it credit for that. My complaint is that I
paid $12 for only one freakin episode - the disc
doesn't contain the whole story. Sure, there are
several different paths you can take in the
interactive adventure, even one that results in the
complete destruction of the earth (which is closure, I
suppose, if you want to look at it that way), but if
you choose the right path to the end, it's simply a
story that's "to be continued" in the next
episode.
It certainly isn't worth $12 - not when you can view
them for free on the web next week. They got me
interested enough that I'll at least download the
webisode to see how the story ends. I hate not
knowing, even if I could easily make up one myself.
Gookie
--veeery curious to see if this is going to be new
Looney Tunes material they've developed exclusively
for the web. But more than likely, it's probably gonna
be the same kinda stuff you'll find at hipclips.com.

Movie News

Saw this little tidbit about the
movie at Yahoo!
Last weekend's champ, ``Pokemon: The First Movie,''
based on the Nintendo video game characters, lost 57
percent of its audience as it fell to No. 3 with $13.3
million in its second round. However Warner Bros.,
which released the film, had expected the percentage
drop to be higher. After 10 days in release, the film
has grossed $68.2 million, and should be at the $90
million mark after Thanksgiving, said studio
distribution president Dan Fellman.
