Today at 3 PM Eastern / 6 Pacific, Nintendo streamed its latest Direct, and as usual, it was packed with information. We’ve taken the liberty of arranging every single announcement in calendar order, so you know what’s coming out and when. The Direct solidified the Switch and 3DS lineups up to July; everything afterward has a vague release window.
Bye-Bye Box Boy: today (3DS)
Team Kirby Clash Deluxe: today
Puyo Puyo Tetris — April 26; demo available today
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: April 28
Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition — May 11
Good thing that this is being made available so soon. Ask a Wii U owner how long it took for this now-essential title to show up there.
Separate Switch dock — May 19
Nintendo explained that this could be used in the event that a family has two TVs and would like to tote the Switch between them. Okay, but I think they should manufacture more Pro Controllers first.
Disgaea 5 Complete — May 23
If you thought Zelda had a lot to do in it….
Street Fighter II Ultra: The Final Challengers — May 26
ARMS: June 16
Neon Yellow Joy-Cons: June 16
Joy-Con Battery Pack — June 16
The Joy-Cons actually stay charged for quite a while. A battery pack for the Switch itself would be far more useful; fortunately, a third party is on it.
Ever Oasis: June 23 (3DS)
RPG Maker Fes: June 27 (3DS)
From NIS America, and quite the surprise. RPG Maker has never been seen on handhelds in the US; it’s a lot of fun if you know what you’re doing.
Splatoon 2 — July 21
The big reveal today was a brand-new battle mode…one in which you don’t fight each other, but an invading army of salmon. And believe it or not, there was even news for the Wii U version…Splatoon will be hosting a “US Inkling Open” from April 22 through April 29; this is a contest with real-world rewards — the grand-prize winners will receive a free trip to E3 2017.
Cloud, Corrin and Bayonetta amiibo — July 21
I already know how hard they’ll be to find, but it’s worse: there will be two different versions of each, and some will be specific retailer exclusives. As someone interested in all three (six now), what did I do to this company to deserve this?
New Zelda amiibo: Majora’s Mask, Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword Link — July 23
These are already confirmed to do things in Breath of the Wild; data was discovered in the code for each.
Fate Extella: The Umbral Star — July 25
Hey! Pikmin and new Pikmin amiibo — July 28 (3DS)
Project Mikeru — Summer 2017
Looks like a 2D overhead Splatoon. You play as little bots, not squid, and must cover a grid of squares with your color.
Namco Museum — Summer 2017
Full lineup list has yet to be revealed. Some Namco arcade games haven’t been re-released since the original 5-part Namco Museum on the original Playstation.
Sine Mora EX — Summer 2017
It’s a shmup, but I welcome a good shmup.
Kirby’s Blowout Blast: Summer 2017 (eShop)
Sonic Mania — Summer 2017
Battle Chasers: Nightwar — Summer 2017
Monopoly for Nintendo Switch — Fall 2017
Monster Hunter Stories — Fall 2017 (3DS)
Yo-Kai Watch 2: Psychic Specters — Fall 2017 (3DS)
Sonic Forces — Holiday 2017
Miitopia: sometime in 2017 (3DS)
Rayman Legends: Definitive Edition — sometime in 2017
New, Switch-exclusive content will be added. Remember when this was first announced as a Wii U exclusive?
Payday 2 — sometime in 2017
If you’re impatient about this one I’m sure you can find it elsewhere.
Super Mario Odyssey — not mentioned in the Direct
Bet on this one making its grand debut at E3.
