Disney/Pixar’s Monsters University has taken the top spot at the box office in its second week of release with an estimated $46.18 million in ticket sales, representing a 44% dip from its opening weekend debut. The drop is better than the second week drops for Toy Story 3 (46%), Brave (49%), or Cars 2 (60%), although analysts expect that the movie will face stiff competition from Despicable Me 2, which opens in theaters this weekend. Coming in a close second was the Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy buddy cop film The Heat, which took an estimated $40 million.
