Third Season Adult Swim Animated Comedy Series Metalocalypse to Premiere Sunday, Nov. 8
A new season of Metalocalypse featuring the animated band will begin on Adult Swim on Sunday, Nov. 8, at 12:30 a.m. (ET, PT). The animated comedy from co-creators and executive producers Brendon Small and Tommy Blacha centers around the most amazing metal band ever created, Dethklok. Band members Nathan Explosion, William Murderface, Skwisgaar Swigelf, Toki Wartooth and Pickles are so important that even the fate of world economics depends on their album releases. But sometimes, the pressure of the universe is just too much to bear, even for the metal banging narcissists of Dethklok.
In the third season of Metalocalypse, the biggest entertainment act ever created is left to manage themselves, which can be tough for a group of guys who don’t know how to do anything but rock out until everyone’s ears bleed. Still, they manage to find time to dabble in interior design and online dating. Dethklok also reunites with a particular rock ‘n roll clown and is joined by guitar legends, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai and Slash.
Since its debut on Adult Swim in February 2006, Metalocalypse the series has spawned the live version of the band Dethklok, led by series co-creator Brendon Small. Small writes the music for the series and has headlined two national tours for Dethklok. On Oct. 2, Small will kick-off Dethklok’s third national tour with Grammy(r) Award-winning band Mastodon, in support of the release of Dethklok: The Dethalbum II. The album is Dethklok’s follow up to The Dethalbum, which shattered sales records when it was released in October 2007. With more than 34,000 copies in its first week, the album became the highest charting death metal album ever before going on to sell more than 300,000 copies to date.
