Mark Hamill’s "Comic Book: The Movie" Wins Two DVDX Awards

Winners of The 5th Annual DVD Exclusive Awards were presented Tuesday, February 8, in Los Angeles.

Disney ruled overall, collecting twelve awards–five of them earned by The Lion King 1½ which won categories for “Best Director,” “Best Screenplay,” and “Best Animated DVD Premiere Movie.”

Mark Hamill’s directorial debut, Comic Book: The Movie, received two awards: “Best Live-Action DVD Premiere Movie” and “Best Supporting Actor” shared by comedians Sid Caesar and Jonathan Winters.

Other animated winners included Shrek 2; Bionicle 2: Legends of Metru Nui; Mickey, Donald and Goofy in The Three Musketeers; Mickey’s Twice Upon a Christmas; and actor Nathan Lane and animator Alexis Stadermann won for “Best Animated Character Performance” in The Lion King 1½.
