LA Times: Sony’s Hope for Animated Film Success is "Cloudy"

The Los Angeles Times analyzes Sony’s hopes that the newly released Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs will be its gateway into animated feature film market (free registration required). Their animated feature film division has produced three movies in seven years (Open Season, Surf’s Up, and Open Season 2), none of which gained much traction in the marketplace. Sony also faces stiff competition in the form of Disney, Pixar, DreamWorks, and Fox.
