Kratt Brothers on Getting Animated for "Wild Kratts"

by on January 11, 2011

The Star-Ledger‘s Inside Jersey magazine has profiled Chris and Martin Kratt, naturalist siblings who have been on TV since 1996 and who are now animated for a new show on PBS Kids titled Wild Kratts. The article follows their TV careers through their first show Kratts’ Creatures, which was followed by the Emmy-winning Zoboomafoo and then Be the Creature, all the way to their newest animated endeavor. Among other topics, the brothers discuss how an animated series gives them the freedom to depict things that they don’t have the ability or the budget to film in the wild, how they teach science through wildlife behavior, and how their love for wildlife developed in their formative years in New Jersey.
