Longtime voice actor June Foray will receive the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences’ 2013 Governor’s Award in commemoration of her career that has spanned more than 80 years and involved numerous iconic voice acting roles. Academy Chairman and CEO Bruce Rosenblum stated, “June Foray absolutely embodies everything that this honor represents. A legend and a pioneer, June is not only in a class of her own, but she literally created that class. There is simply no one more deserving of this honor.” Among countless other roles, Foray provided the voices for Rocky the Flying Squirrel and Natasha Fatale in The Bullwinkle Show; Granny, the owner of Tweety and Sylvester in the Looney Tunes cartoons; and Jokey Smurf in The Smurfs. Last year, she won her first Emmy Award for her work as Mrs. Cauldron on The Garfield Show.
