Josh LeBar on Being Flash Thompson on "The Spectacular Spider-Man"

by on June 6, 2008

Hey! Now I know what that word means!Actor Josh LeBar is currently giving voice to The Spectacular Spider-Man‘s Flash Thompson, but his first brush with superheroes was as a different Flash — DC Comics’ Scarlet Speedster at Six Flags St. Louis in what LeBar described as, “pretty much the easiest job ever.”

The Spectacular Spider-Man‘s PR department has just released an interview with LeBar in advance of “Intervention,” the newest episode of the show airing on Saturday, June 7, 2008, at 10:00 AM (Eastern/Pacific). Of his role, LeBar says that he thinks, “Flash has a certain brashness, but he also has a likeability, so he’s not a complete doof that you hate. He’s a dichotomy – he’s got a few different sides, and he surprises people.” He also has many kind words to say of his fellow actors, saying, “You have no idea how good the people are that do the Saturday morning cartoons until you actually get to see them in action…They walk in and just start switching between three or four characters on a dime.” His role as Flash has also paid dividends with his family, since “I have two nieces, and they don’t get to watch Entourage and my primetime shows, so they’re very excited to see their uncle as a cartoon character.”
