Disney-watcher Jim Hill has stated that Disney’s Gnomeo and Juliet has been axed by incoming creative executives John Lasseter and Ed Catmull. The CGI-animated film was to re-tell Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet with garden gnomes, set to a soundtrack by British rocker Elton John. The same report also states that a workprint of Meet the Robinsons sent to Pixar has resulted in an extensive list of suggested alterations which threaten its scheduled release date of March 30, 2007.
