Jerry Russell, Actor, 1936 – 2013

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports that veteran actor Jerry Russell passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2013, at the age of 77 after complications from abdominal surgery. Russell founded the Stage West theater company in 1978, which became one of four theater groups that set the tone for Fort Worth’s theater scene. In addition to numerous acclaimed stage credits, Russell was a frequent actor in anime dubs, especially those produced by FUNimation, with some of his roles including Mechao in One Piece, General Froi Tiedoll in D.Gray-man, and Tim Marcoh in Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. Most recently, he was Dr. Fritz Kaiser in Lupin the Third: A Woman Called Fujiko Mine and Grandpa Nirasaki in Wolf Children.
