"Ice Age" Leads Box Office Again

by on April 10, 2006

Ice Age: The Meltdown led the pack in weekend movie ticket sales, with a gross take of $33.8 million to make it the first movie of 2006 to break $100 million in domestic ticket sales, according to an article off the wire at ABCNEWS.com. A related article in the Los Angeles Times (free registration required) speculates that the success of Ice Age and several other family films may be a harbinger of a successful summer movie season led by animated family-friendly fare, such as Disney/Pixar’s Cars, Sony’s Open Season, and DreamWorks’ Over the Hedge.
