by on August 19, 2005

As part of Carl Icahn’s continuing efforts to lift Time Warner’s stock price, Icahn on Thursday met with Time Warner CEO Richard Parsons, World Screen reports.

According to a Time Warner spokesman, Icahn and Parsons “had a frank and open exchange of views.” Parsons reportedly made clear to Icahn that “the board and management are committed to moving as aggressively as appropriate on its current course to create and deliver long-term value for all of the company’s shareholders.”

Icahn said in a statement that “both parties believed Time Warner was meaningfully undervalued and that we both wanted very much to rectify this situation.” Both parties also agreed to communicate again shortly.
