George DiCenzo, Voice of Blackstar and Hordak 1940-2010

Variety reports that actor George DiCenzo died on Monday at the age of 70. The actor was best known for playing attorney Vincent Bugliosi, the man who prosecuted serial killer Charles Manson, in the 1976 TV mini-series Helter Skelter. DiCenzo also made guest appearances on such shows as Gunsmoke, The Equalizer, Space Academy, and Law & Order: Criminal Intent.

As a voice actor, DiCenzo was best known as the voice of astronaut John Blackstar in the Filmation cartoon Blackstar. He also was best known as the voice of Bow, Sea Hawk, and Hordak on She-Ra: Princess of Power. Other voice roles include Captain America on Spider-Man & His Amazing Friends, Hercules and Sentinel One on Space Sentinels, Captain Lou Albano on Hulk Hogan’s Rock ‘n’ Wrestling, and Ubu on Batman: The Animated Series. He also did voice work in the video games Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven.

In addition to acting, DiCenzo was also an acting coach in New York, and Philidelphia.

He is survived by his wfie, Donna, a son, a sister, and three grandchildren.
