    Robin Adventures: No Honor...

    Like This Thread!
Okay, this is my first time posting a story on here. This is something I did in my senior year as a comic book, I just wrote it out for this board. So, tell me what you think, just don't be too harsh Here it is....

    No Honor Among Thieves

Edward Nygma, the Riddler, had just figured out his next plot against the Batman. Proud with his accomplishments, he grabbed his purple jacket and hat. As he put his hat on, he froze in his tracks. A figure came from out of the shadows.

    "Yes," the man said.

    *The Batcave, that same evening....*

Tim Drake turned from the computer screen to answer Batman's call from the stairs of the cave.

    "Yeah, Bruce?" he asked.

"It's Batman," he sternly replied. Tim rolled his eyes. "Batgirl and I ae going to the Middle East on the trail of an assasin from the Society of Shadows. Contact Nightwing if you need any help."

"Uh, I think I can handle it," Tim replied.

"Sure," Batgirl said. "Whatever you say." They proceeded down the steps to the hanger where the Batplane was. The roar of the engines echoed of the cave walls as it left.

"Those two don't think I can take care of Gotham myself!" he said, angry. "I'll show them what Tim Drake- I mean, Robin can do!" Alfred went over to the computer and dialed a number.

"I'll contat Master Grayson just in case..."

    *The next day....*

"Today, yet another electronics store in Gotham's south side was robbed, apparently by the Riddler," Jack Ryder read. "The Gotham City Police had no comment on the crime." Robin turn off the TV and headed toward the cave entrance. He went down and put on his costume and jumped on his motorcycle and helmet. He slid down the visor as he started it up.

    "Showtime."

    *Commisioner Gordon's office....*

Jim Gordon put the security tape from the previous night's robbery. He and Robin watched as the Riddler broke in and stole various items. Each time a car was waiting right at the door for him.

"It's the Riddler alright, but it's not his style," Gordon said.

"Well, he is a criminal," Robin answered. "What'd you expect?"

"I know, but usually he leaves those riddles at the scene of every crime," Gordon said. "We've got nothing from this latest spree."

"Hmm." Robin thought for a second. "So he's hit three shops in that area so far, down by the docks, right?"

    "Yeah."

"Any other stores in that area?"

"One that I can think of, but it's in a heavily police patrolled area," Gordon replied.

"I think I'll keep an eye out there," Robin said.

"Well, good luck-" Gordon turned to see that Robin had already left the office. "Now he's got his partners sneaking out of here...."

    *Gotham's South side....*

Robin sat on the roof across from Ernie's Electronics and More and waited for what seemed like an eternity. It got colder than it was and started to snow. Just then a car pulled around to the front of the store. The front door blasted open and the Riddler climbed into the back seat of the car. They took off as Robin glided down to the street. He threw a tracer toward the get away car and went to the alley for his bike. As he came to it, he noticed a figure slumped over at the edge of the electronics store. He went back to see who it was, finding it to be the store's security guard. The guard had something inside his hat, a small white chip of some sort. Robin took out a bag and placed the chip in it. The guard was slowly coming back.

    "W-what happened?" he asked.

"This store's just been robbed," Robin replied. "Do you know what happened?"

    "I can't remember a thing," he replied.

"Just sit tight, the police are on their way." Robin jumped on his bike and took off after the car with the tracer.

    *Wacko Toys Warehouse....*

Robin hid his bike, then moved toward the side of the building. The car had just gotten there before he did. The group unloaded from the car. They moved into the light: the Riddler, two hulking thugs, and The Mad Hatter.

"I should've known," Robin whispered to himself. "He's got Riddler under mind control."

"Grab the loot, boys," Hatter called out. "Eddie, I can't thank you enough for all the hard work you've done." Riddler just walked along, never saying a word. They entered through the side doors of the building, closing it hard behind them. Robin grabbed a grappling hook and shot it towards the roof of the building. He swung up to the upper windows and climbed in onto the crates inside. He looked down and saw piles of electronic equipment and tables with built up devices on them. "This is great! This last hit was all we needed for my ultimate mind control chip. And I owe it all to you, Nygma!" Robin jumped down onto one of the tables, breaking it in two.

"You're game ends now, Hatter!" Robin said.

"Oh, please, cut the dramatics!" Hatter replied, almost in a laugh. "You're nothing without the Bat! But if it's a fight you want, Bruno, Johnny, you know what to do." The two thugs marched toward Robin, pounding their fists into their hands. Robin smiled and pulled out a gas ball. He threw it in Bruno's face, causing him to stagger back. Robin grabbed one of the columns nearby and swung into the his chest. He flew into the Johnny and they landed in a pile. While Bruno walked away rubbing his eyes trying to see straight, Johnny whipped out a knife and jumped toward Robin. He ducked, and punched him in the chin, knocking a tooth out. He then gave him a shot to the chest, followed by a kick to his knee. Out of nowhere, Riddler grabbed Robin from behind and held onto him. Johnny staggered up from the ground and smiled at Robin. He charged him, his fist in the air. Robin pulled down and Johnny hit the Riddler, sending him falling back. Robin jumped up and slammed both hands into Johnny's face, knocking him out. He looked back to the Riddler, whose face was bruised. His hat had been knocked off as well.

"W-w-where am I?" he asked. He looked around and saw the Hatter. "You?! What is this?"

"Now, now, Edward, calm down," Hatter said, backing away. "I can explain everything."

"What have you done to me? Better yet, what have you made me do?" Robin threw two gas balls into the open area they were standing.

"Save it, you two. You'll have plenty of time to talk about it in Arkham." They fell to the ground, coughing. They went unconcious. Robin called the police and cuffed them.

"And they said I couldn't handle Gotham alone," Robin said, proud of himself.

"Good job, squirt." Someone moved from the shadows, dragging a body along with them. "You forgot one, though."

"Nightwing?! How long have you been here?" Robin asked, surprised.

"I got here before you did. Alfred said you might need some help. I guess he was wrong." The dark sky was lit by the Batsignal.

"Well, the night's still young," Robin replied....

    Oh man....

The girls are gonna love you for this! They adore the Tim/Robin character! I'm wondering, is this just the first chapter, or is it the whole story? Either way, I liked it. If it's just the first chapter, you've done a nice job with the set-up of the story.

Thanks for the feedback witness and batchik. This was "issue 1" of "my" Robin Adventures series I did for myself. It's a whole story, short but I think it works. I've got one other half finished comic that's an animated version of the current mainstream Bat team. Batman's costume is darker, Robin (Tim) has a black and blue costume, Batgirl is Cassandra Cain, and Nightwing, Azreal, Huntress, and Oracle are the back-up. It's not too bad, a little more kid friendly I guess. I'll have a lot of time on my hands in the next few weeks so maybe I'll write it up....

Oooh, that was great flhero311. I hope you share more stories with us. I agree with batchick, I've always prefered Dick Grayson, but Timmy is a cutie, too.

I liked it! Let's see some more of Nightwing and Robin. It was cool when Nightwing showed up at the end with a wisecrack. Typical. I agree with Oracle - Robin is such a cutie One thing - when, in future stories, you are describing a fight scene, don't have it all in one paragraph, it makes it a little difficult to read. Other than that - it was a great beginning!

    Later,

Thanks, Panther! I'll keep that in mind next time I gets to writing! BTW, cool to see you're only a day older than me And seeing as there's so much good stuff coming form this story so far, maybe I'll continue this "series" with my next story... a Nightwing/Robin team up?!.....
