Time Waits For No One (Part 6)
Batgirl stared coldly at Jake while her stomach did flip flops. She remembered what had
happened the last time they had met, but she was confident it would be different this time.
“You’re coming with me Jake.” she said quietly.
Jake smiled slightly, “Now... if I remember correctly, your not part of the Gotham Police
Force, and because you don’t have a warrant or anything, I don’t need to listen to you.
So if you’ll excuse me.” he turned and headed away.
Batgirl moved quickly and stepped in front of Jake, “You’re not getting away that easily
Jake. You can either come with me peacefully, or hogtied!” she said in a deadly voice.
Jake rolled his eyes and shrugged, “Fine... but I’m going to sue you for harassment when
I’m cleared.” then he turned and headed for the door outside, “Might I assume you
borrowed the Bat’s car, or are you planning on having the police department waiting for
me?”
Batgirl remained silent as Jake continued chatting to himself. She was beginning to relax a
little bit though.
**************************************************
Jake was silently laughing to himself... the girl was making this way to easy. Continueing
normally he braced slightly, then spun, slamming his suitcase into Batgirl’s stomach.
“Ooof!” the sound rang through the busy terminal as Jake turned and took off.
Batgirl picked herself up and took off after him at top speed, her eyes cold... she was
SERIOUSLY ticked off now!
**************************************************
Nightwing and Robin sat on the building looking at the stars... trying to regain their
breath. The fire department had arrived a while before, and were doing their best to put
out the whole fire. Nightwing’s comlink beeped and he quickly answered it, “Nightwing
here.”
“Nightwing... Batgirl located Jake over at the Gotham City Airport. She figured he’d be
leaving town since his mission was done. A security camera caught him and she headed
over not to long ago. You better get over there. From what’s happening he seems like a
slick guy.” Bruce’s voice said.
“I’m on my way... Robin’s on his way back to the base. Nightwing out.” Nightwing
turned, “Get back quick kid... help Bruce monitor what’s happening.” then he turned and
lept off the building, gliding swiftly down to his motorcycle. Kicking the starter he roared
off, his eyes cold as he murmured softly, “He’s mine!”
**************************************************
Jake raced through the terminal, ducking behind people. A slight smirk covered his face
as he ran because he heard Batgirl’s futile attempts behind him. A bola struck a man next
to him as Jake sidestepped with no apparent warning. Jake quickly ducked around a
corner, and then into a room marked “Employees Only”
Batgirl skidded around the corner, looking around quickly... then her eyes locked on Jake
walking just up ahead. His hat covered him, but they were the same clothes. Batgirl
charged forward and spun Jake around, her arm pulled back for the punch... the man
gasped in shock, but the blow never came. Batgirl’s eyes widened slightly... it wasn’t
Jake!
**************************************************
Jake quickly pulled on the airport clothes and strolled out on the area by the runway. He
walked along with baseball cap, sunglasses, and ear plugs until he reached a nearby
vehicle, then he stepped in and drove off.
**************************************************
Batgirl looked outside her eyes narrowed. “He must have changed clothes.” she muttered,
and she looked around until she locked on a man that, though dressed differently, was
about the same build. A smile played over her lips ever so briefly and she took off at a
dead run.
**************************************************
Nightwing skidded to a stop outside the Airport Terminal. Glancing over he saw Batgirl
charge outside and run towards the runways. Reving his engine he took off after her.
With one easy movement he pulled alongside and scooped her into the seat behind him,
“Need a ride?” he asked with a grin as he roared onward.

Ok readers, I know your out there. I can see some people are reading this... please give me some feedback on the story. What do you like? Dislike? Did I make any disasterous errors again? I'll be posting the next chapter in the next few days. Hope all of you are enjoying this!

yes, we're reading.
I'm reading the story, and I do think that it's exciting. I think I've figured out why there isn't much of a response coming. This chapter, while good, just isn't so massive that people want to talk about it. They pretty much understand the story as you're telling it so far. And unless you throw them a curve, something totally unexpected at the end of the chapter, so people will say, "omg! I can't wait for the next chapter!" then you just don't get a whole lot of response.
It's just like Daughter of Evil's story. I know that she's a great writer. I know that she's doing an excellent job with her latest story. But when she puts a twist in the plot to end her latest chapter, I am compelled to respond. For instance, when X went into the guy's apartment with the bomb and didn't get out of there in time, I was saying to myself "omg! I can't believe she just blew up her star character!!! What's she gonna do with the next chapter???" Then, in the next chapter she explains what happens.
Likewise, with my story, there were a couple of chapters that...I felt just didn't grab the reader and make them wonder what would come next. Once you read the latest chapter, you just had to respond. Will the Joker get Bruce Wayne or not? If he does, what happens to the rest of the heros in Gotham? If he doesn't, what happens to Joker and Harley? This way you'll definately want to see the next part of the story.
So, in essence, they are reading the story. Most, if not all, are probably enjoying it. Just hang in there and give 'em all you got! I'll be waiting for your next installment.
