    Boy, that *is* off-topic!

    Cute parrots, though.
And besides, most people look at this type of topic unrealistically. They are all under the apparent misconception tha--oh, wait. Is my post over? Ah, okay.

California isn't the only state where flocks of escaped parrots are now living wild. We've got some in my area of Connecticut- monk parrots, to be exact. Pretty little things.

I have this feeling this thread is about to come across a certain Monty Python scetch...

Shopkeeper: It's not (dead), it's pinning.

Customer: It's not pinning, it's passed on!

Well, okay, you knew someone was going to do that, poit.

America's "only" indigenous wild parrot is the Thick-Billed, a red-headed Amazon that turns up in extreme southern Arizona. This, mind you, ignores Puerto Rico's parrots and extinct species like the Carolina Parakeet.

Wonderful birds, parrots. My dad got one when I was about ten. The bird didn't like Dad much, but decided he liked me after a few months. I still have him. If I twist around in my chair, I can see him from here.

    (Twists around.)

    Hello, Radar!

    (Radar ignores James.)

    Typical.

What do they do in the winter? Migrate? Didn't know parrots did that.
