Furball/Rita silmilietras

I couldn't help but had a thought that these two characters are very simliar, both Furball and Rita are homeless, expct that Furball despited not liking it sometimes lives with Elmyra and he would have had a nice home with Mary Melody if it wasn't for Sweetie pie however he doesn't have anyone to share his problems while Rita has Runt.. I think Rita cartoons go a lot further by expolring her relationship with Runt and that she a singer. Maybe it just be but what dio you think it was intentionally to have very simlar chracters.

Honestly, I don't see any similarities between Furrball and Rita besides the fact that both characters are homeless cats.
