hello hello
which video game do you deem worthy because of it's music? has some game's music just absolutely gotten to you and added to the over all emotion of the game? let's hear about it
the music that rocks the house for a video game in my opinion goes to earthbound for the SNES! come on, let's face it, when you hear that onett theme song or you start thinking about it, you just have to hum along

Paper Mario. The music set such a mood. It's my favorite RPG ever (yes, I like it better than Super Mario RPG). I know some people don't care for it, but I feel it's a masterpiece.
Max Payne. Play the game and you'll understand. Play the game in 5.1 Surround Sound and you'll never go back to other soundtracks.
Law of the Jungle: He who hesitates is lunch.
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, in my opinion. The music fit the game perfectly. Dracula X was also very good, but there weren't as many tracks (about half as many).
Later.
I like so many, but I'll just pick one out the many I love. Super Mario RPG has some of the best music I haev ever heard.
Skies of Arcadia: It might be because it's the game i'm currently focusing on, but the music really stands out, even though there are only a couple of songs.
"Um, when I came on the show, I was under the impression that you could win prizes or money. Not orphaned children."

Grand Theft Auto III and Vice City come to mind for me. The radio made for a much more enjoyable experience. I can't imagine playing without it.
"Doesn't that just beat all..."
FFVII Original Soundtrack (4 CD Import)
most any FF and of course Vice City... the 80's ROCK... I think...
Here are some other good soundtracks...
Donkey Kong Country
Donkey Kong Country 2
Paper Mario
Super Smash Bros. Melee
Conker's Bad Fur Day
Banjo-Kazooie
Banjo-Tooie
Star Fox Adventures
Resident Evil
Resident Evil 2
Resident Evil Zero (I like these games scary music!)
Kingdom Hearts (Haven't played much, but I like what I heard!)
and that's all for now...
lets see...
Super Smash Bros. Melee (mostly cause of Ness's stage's music and Mute City)
DKC 2
I guess Shenmue (which i do not have, i've only seen)
and Godzilla: Destroy all Monsters Melee (only one song i really like)
Wise words from Dennis:
Diet Pepsi won't make you skinny.
Country singers support alcoholism.
Women's magazines destroy families.
Castlevania: SotN has the most gorgeous soundtrack in the history of time. Second place goes to Phantasy Star Online. The level music wasn't all that spectacular, but the boss music (especially De Rol Le's tune, "From Seeing the Rough Wave") is awesome.
Max Payne was very good with the tragic piano music . I liked all of MOH frontline's tunes especialy the "Several Bridges Too Far" missions . Its the perfect music to kill some nazi's with a sniper rifle![]()
"Lupin the 3rd just an unorthadox theif "
I've always liked the soundtracks to EWJ 1 & 2, save for the icky versions of the same songs on the SNES. Don't care whether or not the SNES had better sound processing; it wasn't put to good use here. The SEGA CD and PC versions were the best.
MDK2 -- frustratingly hard game (especially the DC version), made even more frantic by Jesper Kyd's soundtrack. Good stuff, though. I've since downloaded every available track on the Jesper Kyd Site, from various other games.
Myst & Riven -- Even if you don't like the games themselves (which I *do* like), you've gotta admit that the music has an atmosphere all its own.
Haven't picked it up yet, but I expect .hack//INFECTION to make it onto my favorite list quickly if the music is anything like .hack//SIGN or .hack//DUSK's.
Aside from that, most any music from any Zelda game, and few selections from assorted Final Fantasy games.

My favorite would have to be Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. It creates the perfect mood for every area of the game, and every single song is enjoyable. My favorite after SOTN is Jet Grind Radio.
Final Fantasy VII without a doubt. VIII follows up as a close second!

Jet Grind Radio and FF7 have IMO the best soundtracks.
