A ps2 question?

I talked with my father today about what console to get so he told me to get PS2 because of the DVD, doesn't crash <hard-drive wise> like X-Box, Gamecube isn't having any great games that'll interest me except maybe Super Smash Bros Melee and Halo isn't my type of game for X-Box...
So, I am officially getting a PS2 this Summer after I finish my final exams for my High School...

So can you guys can help me...

Should I get the $35 warrenty on it...

What games I should get???

This is what I was thinking of? Can anyone tell me how much will each cost. I really don't care if they are used?

Street Fighter EX3
Street Fighter vs SNK 2
Virtua Fighter 4
Journey Jaburo Gundam
Gundam Zeonic Front

should I get Final Fantasy 10? <--I have FF 8 on my computer I didn't get the game.
what sports games are good... racing, baseball, soccer, ice hockey, football and cricket
Z.O.E <Zone of Enders>
Bouncer
and the other
adventure game called with Samuri Character *right now with a X-Box out right now*

Also the store guy told me that Capcom is going to make more Street Fighter/Vs games for Ps2.... *that really made want to get the console*

Sorry if I bashed any of the other consoles, that's how I think...
I am not fan boy of any console... I like to get the console with the games that appeal to me... But I am not a rich person so I have to choose one like most of my friends...

Here's something I like to share with you guys... there are 3 friends that I have known since I was 3...

1st friend getting a X-Box <-- because of Halo and multiplayer options...
2nd friend got a Ps2 <-- he's rich than anyone I know....
3rd friend got a Dreamcast top 5 games of the console with 4 controllers for $100...

another freind of mine just got a PS2 a month before it became $200...

So they are all looking at me for which console that I'll choose...

Or should I still wait because I heard a PS2 emulator for the PC is coming out by next year or by 2004. Also Connetix will be making X-Box Emulator for PS2....

So can anyone help me out...

Metal Gear Solid 2 rocked. Buy it. And if you like racing, Gran Turismo 3 is very nice. And if you like violence, sex, depravity, and horribly dirty fun, Grand Theft Auto 3 is awesome.

First off i have a ps2 and think its great i also recommend gamecube and bye the way did u know that all the new systems are only $199 now the only system i hait is the x-box

so if i had to o with them i would have to pick ps2 and gamecube

not only do you have a lot of great games out, and tons more comeing out, but if you never had a ps1 (like me) you have 400 more games to enjoy.

With that said, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is a must-buy.
