What does "DX" stand for?

It's put on the tail end of a bunch of Japanese games. Gundam DX, Zelda DX, Super Smash Bros DX.... what's it mean?

Deluxe.

Like when Marvel used to have the Xmen DX covers and the newstand covers for a year or so about 1/2 a decade back Zelda: Link's Awakening DX is a deluxe version of the original version, as it has been colorized and features a few new levels.

Ah, yes DX - I first saw that lil' short-hand in Earthbound, when the best and coolest things were given it. Even bosses, like Starman DX, and items like Hamburger DX (I think), and all sorts of other stuff. Cute lil' add-on thing imo

Heh Heh, I thought you were talking about "Degeneration X" the old stable from the WWF....er, I mean the WWE now.

But yea, it stands for Deluxe. They used that term on games for the Game Boy Color. But they don't use it because we now have the Game Boy Advanced and all the games for it have the term "Advanced".

BTW, why does Nintendo do that? They have special terms for games on their different consoles...

SNES- Super....as in Super Metroid.
N64- 64....as in Mega Man 64 or Super Mario 64
Virtual Boy- Virtual....as in Virtual Mario Tennis
Game Boy Color- Deluxe...as in Super Mario Bros. DX or Zelda DX
Game Boy Advanced- Advanced.....as in Sonic Advanced

What is the special term for the GameCube? It should be cubed...

I do that too- with other things. Whenever the letters "TLC" are mentioned, I think of the match, rather than its various other meanings.

I just realized you were talking about the WWF match....lol.....whenever I see something like "TLC" the first thing that comes to my mind is the R&B trio(rest in peace Left eye).
