Anyone own an X-Box?

There is Playstation and Nintendo talk all over this place. Did any of you bother with the XboX? I think it's pure crap and I wouldn't buy it for 25 cents. There is no games I want on the system.

I'd buy it, if it met my "5 Game" rule. See, for me I prefer to play RPG's. So any system I'm going to buy it must have at least 5 RPG's that interest me. Sure once I have a system I'm going to buy other games for it, but RPG's are how I'm going to waste most of my time with the system.

Two Zelda games and Ogre Battle 64 were not enough to convince me to buy a N64.

I'd have bought a Dreamcast, but Shenmue never appealed to me and the two games that even interested me (Grandia II and Skies) have and will be ported to other systems. Sorry JC.

Right now I have a PSX and PS2 and it looks like I'll have to be buying a GC soon. If I had the spare change I'd be out buying a GBA right now. Sadly I never owned a NES, SNES, or Genesis (parents wouldn't let me), but I've experienced the wonders of those systems through the power of emulation! BOOYAH!


So, yep. If Billy Gates and his X-Box and meet my 5 game rule I'll buy the system, until then, well...

Did you know if you buy 2 PS2 RPG games you get a 3rd one free? Just look for the sticker on Grandia II.

I don't think this system will have 5 total games that would make me want to buy the system let alone 5 of one genre.

Everything they have that I want is on other systems. The XboX only titles don't wet my whistle. The wrestling game is awful. Wreckless was a waste of 2 minutes. And finally PS2 is going to release a game that blows Halo away.

What game is that? My roommate has only one game for his X-box right now, and that's Halo. There are about 5 or 6 of us that have been playing deathmatch on it a lot over the past several months.

If I were to get a system, I'd lean towards ps2 or GC because there are several games on each I like, but the problem for me is that I'd really want Halo. If PS2's got a Halo-like game coming that could solve my dilemma. The other thing, though, is that X-box has Unreal Championship coming. I've got Unreal Tournament on my PC, and I'm a huge fan. So if that game turns out as good as I'm imagining, I might just grab an Xbox so I can have halo and unreal.

It's got great graphics, I like the Xbox version of Tony Hawk very much. (They guys in the factory: "What does this button do?") But, the controller stinks! I predict it will become the no. 1 cause of arthritis in people under 35 within 5 years.

Dark Angel I am not sure of the title of the game, but it was in a PSM a few months ago that Sony has developers working on a game to blow Halo away. I'll ask my friend when I see him again what it was called.

my brother owns XBOX, and I play it. I gotta pick up Jet Set Radio Future soon...fun game.

I really REALLY hate Halo. The graphics (to me) aren't that amazing..and it's just another shooting game (and YES, I have played it). Controls suck as well.

so, basically, I hate XBOX, but I will buy a couple games for it. I just don't like the system as a whole (And their pot-shots at Nintendo in every issue of their magazine).

I doubt its Medal of Honor. The game is supposed to play and be a lot like Halo, only better. I don't follow all of the game hoop-la. I just buy what I like.

The next game and the only game I am thinking about or what to know about is Mortal Kombat 5. Till then I probably won't buy anything. Maybe Madden if it comes out first. Other than that I don't have the desire for games. I was thinking about NBA 2K2 on PS2 because its on sale at the toy store 50% for this month but I would need a new memory card for the space and well those aren't easy to come by.

Hey Bird Boy have you played that game? If it's anything like the version on the xbox demo I wouldn't suggest it.

what game? Jet Set? Yeah, I played it. (the one on the demo--not in stores..the one on the disc). It's one of those games that you say "what the h-e double hockey sticks is this piece of bantha fodder!?", and then once the controls kick in, it becomes rather fun. It's a game like Crazy Taxi...just, fun.

To me, anyway..

I'm not sure how much the demo is like the game. The store demo made you play and play and play just to get to the first level. I think the idea of the game is cool. It's just hard to get the feel for some games on a demo.

If you like the Simpsons and Crazy Taxi you'll love Simpsons Road Rage. It's on XboX and PS2.

It will, I'm sure of it. Actually I hear that Metroid will have a lot of the exploration element rather than the run around and kill things theme that most FPSs have. That's better for me, because running around and killing things gets old, fast. At least when you've got actual objectives you've actually got a real reason to play. But Metroid better have a multiplayer, just in case I'm in a "run around and kill things" kind of mood.
