Any PS2 fans out there?

I've been noticing alot of GC fans (nothing wrong with that) and I'm just wondering if theres any other PS2 fans in TZ besides me.

I'm a fan of the PS2. Its a nice solid system that has some age and experiance behind it. Plus it was the first console system that featured DVD capability(a feature that I didn't know about until later reasearching the system). While I only have 1 PS2 game I still enjoy the system and once I get some spare cash in my pocket.. I'm going to get a few.

As for the Cube... another system that looks real good and has good games that just plain kick(Resident Evil and Smash Bros. Melee just to name at least two and Rogue Leader if you want to go for three). Going to try and get it or GBA sooner or later but I'm tring to get a new PC, some Anime DVD's and all kinds of other stuff so my console conquest has been on hold as of late.

I have a PS2. I love it. I'll get the occasional rented game or DVD now and then, but since I got my computer, it's been kind of idle. I feel kinda guilty.

Yep, I've got a PS2 as well, and love it. I've got a ton of DVDs and maybe 10 PS2 games, as well as my collection of PS1 games.

Ps2 fan right here. and I wouldn't trade for any system, (Except for the PS3 in 2005)

seven PS2 games.
Four DVD's
and a lot of PS1 games.

(bad thing is, my local EB wants to sells me a CG real bad. He keeps hounding me about it. He doesn't bash the PS2, he says that GC is better. I say he's full of it.

how's the DVD playback? will Return of The Joker uncut play on it? I have the 2.10 drivers. I don't have the DVD remote, the system says manufactured january 2002.

The DVD playback is great. I've got several hundred DVDs, and the PS2 is the only DVD player I own (other than the one in my computer). I've never had any problems with any of my DVDs playing in it. And RotJ Uncut plays fine - I just watched my copy of it the other day. I think I also have the 2.10 drivers, so it shouldn't be a problem. I would suggest the remote though if you can afford it. Using the controlled can be a bit annoying - its easy to accidentally hit a button you didn't mean to, and I always tend to forget what button does what.

i don't have a DVD-ROM in my computer though. And i got the computer in april 2001! They gave me a regular 56X CD and a 12X8X32 (which is very outdated now) CD-RW. (Grumbles) they could have at least given me a 2X DVD-ROM!

I have a PS2, and I've gotta say I'm pretty pleased with it. I also have a GC, though, and I'm not sure which one I prefer. I like the fact that the PS2 can play DVDs.

Oh, and to the above poster, yeah, I've tried Devil May Cry. I found it pretty good. It had lots of action. It wasn't the sort of game I'd buy, but it was certainly a worthwhile rental.

I have a dead PS1 and have been contemplating on whether to get the XBox or PS2. PS2 has more titles now and will have more titles in the months to come and some sweet titles coming out between now & Christmas. The XBox at the same price has some sweet titles planned as well. Some of the screen caps I am seeing for XBox titles look crisper than the PS2. My little cousin got gamecube but after the soft titles on N64, I have had my fill of Nintendo.
I see myself buying a PS2 in the fall. The Superman game should be out by then.

Yes! It is the coolest game not to be a sequel. And it is hard as heck. But it still looks good.

If it played CD-RW's. It would be the best system.

PS2 is the shiznit. It might not be quite as technologically advanced as persay X-Box or Cube, but no one can deny it has the best games- BY FAR.

The PS2 has had some great games come out over the past year, such as Twisted Metal: Black, Jak and Daxter, Devil May Cry, Baldur's Gate, Final Fantasy X, Metal Gear Solid, and others. So color me happy.
