I don't like it either, but I don't blame GameSpot. Did you expect them to be able to run that site for free forever? It's only $19.95 a year, which is less than any magazine that's actually worth reading. They provide more news, previews, reviews, codes, and special features than any other source of video game information online or off. I see no reason why anyone should be dissapointed in GameSpot. It costs a lot of money to run that site, and they ask for a relatively small amount of money for what they offer. If you really don't have the money you can still read most of their new material for free, which is still more than you can get from most sites. I'll still be visiting GameSpot more than any other video game site, and I see no reason why people should stop going there just because you have to pay to see all of it.
Thing about that is, Is if you look around enough you can find all the info on this pay sites out on the net.

Man, haven't been there is awhile, but it was one of my fave vid game sites.Well, I guess it isn;t cheap to run a site, and with all that bandwidth. Though, I certainly ain't paying
You're cheap, but not as cheap as your girlfriend.
Who did you vote for last year? Can you vote? Can you read? Do you have thumbs? Show me your thumbs!!!
...No not vengance, PUNISHMENT.
Guys, remember... the folks that run Gamespot are doing that for a living, and have to get paid somehow. We were spoiled rotten a few years ago when everything on the net was free. But we have to face facts--those days are over, and we have to go back to financially supporting the professional sites we like. The Dark Knight makes a good point... $19.95 is a very good price, and gives you more information than a print mag for half the cost.
By the way, you can STILL get lots of good stuff off Gamespot. The way it works is that nearly all of the new information remains free for 7 days, then it's locked. If you're willing to check it regularly, you won't see much of a difference.

You read it... you can't un-read it!
20 bucks a year isn't so bad. I don't think I'd be willing to pay it though. Maybe when I'm old enough to get a job. I'm 14 right now, so that means 2 more years.![]()
I can't blame them either. 19.95 is a good deal if you look at Gamespot as a magazine. The thing is, it's hard to do that since I've been getting it for free all this time. I hope that all the good sites on the web make you pay someday. I might have to give up on the internet if that happens.
