Somw X-Boxes do scratch games but the processor is the same as a low quality DVD player so it plays anyway. A standard feature in DVD players is that it will play a severly scractched CD..so it's not an issue.

That is all needed to know. Is there a possibility that the X-Box could scratch the disk so much that it is an issue? Please let me know. ThanksOriginally posted by Chris Sanders MSX

I've heard some say that the DVDs were scratched so badly they wouldn't play. But the scratching problem is mainly in Japan, from what I hear.
So you're still thinking of getting one after all of us are shrieking, "NOOOOOOO!"![]()

Well rggkjg1, as promised in the original 'should I buy x-box' I talked to one of my friends who has one. He said he hasn't had too many problems with it other than there really aren't too many good games right now. He said that this would of course change after it has been around for a year like the PS2.
He also said that he isn't a big fan of the HUGE controllers and that one of his friends has had problems with the controllers crapping out on him. Personally I still you think you'd be better off with one of the other systems GameCube, but like I said before, in the end it is up to you based on the kind of things you want in a system.![]()

I don't know much about the GC. It might be the better system. But one of my roommates has an X-box and we play Halo all the time. And that's just one game. Like Penguin's friend said, more great games should be coming the future. As it stands right now, there are other good games out besides Halo.Originally posted by The Penguin

Also, none of us have really had any problems with the controller. We've got 4 controllers, 3 of which are the smaller sized ones. Those are the ones I mostly use, and I think they're great. When I've used the large one, I haven't really had a problem. And I don't consider my hands big, either.
In comparison to other systems, maybe the X-box falls short. I can't comment on that because I haven't played the GC at all and have played the PS2 only a couple times. But the X-box system itself is good. If you were to get it, I don't think you'd be disappointed.
