yeah, I want of these babies. You can get a fulled MODed one (one that plays any DVD [including ANY region], US and Japanese Games and burned DVDs) for like $470 (Granted, ain't cheap, but this is the cream of the crop right here!)

I drool at the thought of being able to hold one of these puppies..hopefully my brother will cave sooner than he wants and buy one..

Don't get excited yet... it ain't coming to the US. While the idea of a Gamecube fused to a good-quality DVD player is a good one, it won't come to pass on these shores.

Yeah, I meant to say the reason the full MODed one was $470 was because it had to be Imported..

No guys he's right. It's coming here. I forget where but I read it on some game site linked to the UGO Network that plans were changed and it's coming to America but not until the release of the PS3. Remember plans are to keep GC out for about 7 years ?

I'll look for the article and post it.


(Also my friend Chris .Q who knows jsut about everything due to his constant news searching.. confirms thsi as well..I know it doesn't mean squat to you guys but it's all the proof I need.)

I hate IGN, but I have to quote this:

Owners with only a US GameCube and no DVD player of any kind should look into the Panasonic Q. It doesn't look like it's coming stateside anytime soon. It's also not even a bad consideration to imagine selling off your US cube and DVD player for this.

I don't even see this cube even remotely coming to the US...

Are you sure it wasn't an April Fools' joke? Nintendo isn't stupid. Trying to compete with the PS3 with a GC/DVD hybrid would be like fighting a tank with a paintball gun. They can say the GC will be out for 7 years all they want, but if they don't have plans to release their next system when the PS3 comes out then they are in big trouble.

Nintendo has said absolutely nothing about keeping the Gamecube going for seven years, or indeed anythingabout its lifespan. Game consoles tend to have a manufacturing period of about five years, unless they flame out (i.e. Jaguar, Dreamcast, etc.).

Me, I'd just play some games and be happy.

Heh.. Go search through The Planetgamecube.com arcives thats where I read an interview where shiggys aid he plans on the GC staying out for about 7 years (past the average life span)

And I'm sorry but GC could compete with a PS3.. At this point Graphics are pretty much at there height and PS3 would be released to match the power of X-box and GC as PS2 is currently behind in the graphics department. Also they most likey throw in the two extra controller ports the PS2 lacks..PS3 will basicly be just another X-Box with better games. And all Nintendo needs are games.. Games are what matter. Or did the PS vs N64 teach you nothing..Yes The PS had much weaker graphics but the ability to play movie screens and tons of support are what amde it number 1. So yeah a GC with a DVD could almost certainly compete with a PS3.

I already have a DVD Player and a GC and I won't be getting this but The thing where it lets you paly imported games without modification does peak my intrest... So I may change my mind..

I doubt it. Sony has all of the developers. What good games are on Gamecube that aren't also on Playstation?

The only game that makes me want to a Gamecube will be the new WWF game. Nintendo always has had the better wrestling games.

I have no reason to get a Gamecube. There's no games I want I can't have on PS2. There are many more people out there who feel like I do.
