3DS version closer to Smash 64 simplicity, and the WU version to be an evolution of Melee/Brawl style.
Either way they better have Ness and Kirby and they better not be as nerfed as they were in Melee.
HYPED.
We know it's coming, we know there will be a Smash game for WiiU and another for 3DS, we know it's almost certain to be awesome.
So here we are with a lack of details but plenty of potential for Nintendo's grand crossover. What's everyone hoping for?

The sole fact we're getting portable Smash is amazing. I'm expecting the 3DS version to be closer to Brawl, and WiiU an HD version with a larger roster. Just keep my mains (Lucario, Wolf, ROB, Zelda and Lucas) and we're set.
And Bowser's Castle needs to be a stage.

not to worried about my mains, ness and samus aint going nowheres, not that it matters cause im not that good. uhh so have they really announced anything besides "its coming, eventually"?
tripping better be removed, and the chain grabs....and planking...
All these creatures around here suck. we need to make them cooler.-Porky
How much cooler? not 10, not 30, not 25 and a half, 20%.
And so it begins. Let's get this hype train going!
Portable 3D Smash, most likely with online....sounds great. A new console Smash as well, marking the first time we've had two Smash games coming at the same time! But without any details at all, it's hard to really predict what's going to happen with them.
Also....there must be a Golden Sun character. Isaac, or perhaps Matthew, just has to be in it now that Dark Dawn has been released.
Alllso, I'm hoping there's many options in terms of controllers. Using that rather unwieldy WiiU controller with the huge screen doesn't strike me as great for a fighting game. We probably won't be able to use a GC controller, so maybe something like the Classic Controller for the WiiU? Who knows.
Well apparently they were hyping how there would be many options for WiiU games and Brawl was fantastic about giving players options, so I'd be shocked if the Wii controls of Brawl did not stay.
A Golden Sun character would make sense for sure. I also think Little Mac is the #1 assist trophy that really ought to be a playable character.

Hope that they'll bring all the new characters from Brawl + Mewtwo back, it'd be a shame if we lost anyone, even the "clones".
As for new characters: Bomberman, Isaac/Felix/Matthew, Geno, Lyn, and Megaman are on the top of my list.
Wonder if they're gonna bring all of those composers back? They should since this is kinda a big thing and all. Hoping they bring along some new composers along as well. (A Daisuke Ishiwatari version of the final boss theme from Yoshi Island would be perfect.)
Heck wonder what they're gonna do for the games theme song. Uematsu is kinda hard to top. I think something like JAM Project would be awesome though.

That's true. I've been wanting a portable Smash Brothers game for awhile and I even was talking about it with a friend of mine a couple of weeks ago when we saw a display case for the 3DS at Toys R Us. Given the capabilities of the 3DS, I think that this is the best time for them to try out a portable Smash Brothers game. I think that there will be only a few characters that are only playable on the WiiU to get more people into buying both versions, although I'd imagine that both versions will sell like hotcakes. All I'm really hoping for is that they do keep Lucario for at least the 3DS version since that's the only one I can get and I'd love to fight in a Super Smash Brothers game as Lucario. I'll give Nintendo the money for both the game and the 3DS if they say Lucario is in the game, even though they'll get a good chuck of my money anyway given how excited I am for some of their other 3DS games. I'll be disppointed if they don't, but at least I can finally play a new Super Smash Brothers game. Actually, I would like it if they kept most of the same characters from Brawl and a few new ones, \ since most of the new characters they introduced in Brawl seemed like pretty good and were useful. Then they could use the WiiU version to introduce some more new characters to get people interested in the game. Still, as long as Lucario is in the 3DS, I'll be one extremely happy camper.
That does sound like a really cool idea for a stage. I wonder how the stages will look in the 3DS graphics and how many new ones they'll introduce. It would be kind of cool if they tried for a stage set in one of the cities in Unova. I know that they had Saffron City in the original Super Smash Brothers game, but I only remember stadiums for Melee and Brawl. Maybe something like one set in Castelia City given how huge it is compared to the rest of the cities in the region, but that's the only new stage I can think of off the top of my head.Originally Posted by Jave

My one hope for the game is that Travis Touchdown(No More Heroes) really IS added to the character roster. Suda 51 said he;d like to have him in there, and I did hear that he talked to Sakurai about it.....
Hoping they can keep Sonic in the roster and (wishful thinking) add Mega Man or Bomberman.
OMG... SSB speculation time again? *squeals*
Did this forum have one of those for Brawl? I wasn't around on this forum back then.
Anyway, this game needs a playable Golden Sun character. Isaac or Matthew. I still think Isaac is the prime candidate, but there's the probable Golden Sun sequel (or so I've heard, I haven't beat the game completely) coming out which might put Matthew on close to equal footing.
I just think that Isaac/Matthew would be such a unique character. I thought Isaac was perfect from the instant I first played Golden Sun. I was really disappointed when he didn't make it into Brawl. I mean really disappointed. That Assist Trophy was a slap in the face (no pun intended, considering his ability), the model wasn't even done very good. I want to see him in HD on the Wii U, as a playable character. There are few other things that Nintendo could do that would make me that excited. lol
Otherwise I really hope that attention shifts back away from the single player mode. I enjoyed SSE somewhat, but it's not what SSB is about. Everything else about Brawl felt lacking. Even the other single player modes in SSBB were a step-back. SSE was fun one time around, but it didn't keep me playing. The multiplayer needs to be stepped back up. We need a stronger and larger character roster (please no more 'clones'/partial 'clones', Toon Link, Ganondorf, Luigi, etc. deserved so much more than what they got in Brawl) and we'll be good.
The online should also be improved, but I seriously doubt it wouldn't be.
As for the fact that there is a new SSB coming out for both the 3DS and Wii U. That's very fascinating. I wonder how they will differentiate from each other, and I wonder if having both will unlock certain characters in each version. I could see Isaac/Matthew being on the portable but also being on the Wii U by transfer, but I don't know if they'd actually do that.
Either way I am overjoyed that I have a SSB game coming to a console I already own - the 3DS. It seemed so unlikely, and I really thought it would be a one or the other deal. Despite how 'underwhelming' Nintendo's E3 conference may have seemed, it was actually really good for stuff like this.
Geno for Smash 4! ...Hey, let me dream.
I'm hoping they keep everyone from Brawl and bring back the Melee characters cut (well, at least bring back Mewtwo, the rest I can live without). And if Bowser's Castle isn't finally made into a stage my head will explode.
I'm hoping that we get a SSE-esque, big Adventure Mode again. I absolutely loved that from Brawl. And it's kind of a stretch, but it'd be sick to have an Adventure Stage Builder.
Bowser Jr. should be a playable, along with King K. Rool
''Oh Yeah, Snooty Patooty'' Pogoriki (GoGORiki)
''Kirby Crack Kracko Up'' King DeDeDe (Kirby: Right Back At Ya!)
Sonic and Snake are safe bets if you ask me. Sega won't pass on any chance to promote Sonic, and Kojima is probably calling Sakurai as we speak.

I hope they improve Adventure Mode. Brawl's was a chore to traverse through.
