"Dragon Ball Heroes" Adds New What-If Characters (Super Saiyan 3 Gogeta June 2012)

Our good friend Kei17 has brought to our attention that the latest card-based Dragon Ball arcade game in Japan, Dragon Ball Heroes, has added a new, original character to the mix: Super Saiyan 3 Future Trunks.



They don't seem to have even bothered with Super Saiyan 2, I guess. ~_~

So I guess, because they've already been scraping from the bottom of the barrel, all new Dragon Ball games have to have at least one new Super Saiyan form?

SS3 Vegeta was cool and SS3 Broly was certainly...interesting, but SS3 Future Trunks? Really? It just seems so...pointless.

Just give me a Super Saiyan Pan or, for hilarity value, either Super Saiyan Nappa (how would you even tell?) or any Super Saiyan form of Raditz (you can't even IMAGINE the immensity of his SS3 hair). Those are the only ones that'd interest me at this point.

Heh, I don't necessarily disagree...but SSj3 Future Trunks probably generates more fan interest, I think.

Ah yes, Majin Ozotto...I remember reading about him, he sounds like such a strange character.

Why we haven't gotten "Farmer with a Shotgun" yet is beyond me, though. At least he's canon.

The same reason we've not gotten giants in the Raging Blast series: it's unbalanced. Nobody wants a one-hit-killer like Farmer With Shotgun running around, anyhow.

I'm still pulling for Neko Majin Z and Baby Vegeta, to be honest.


Anyhow, a bit more on-topic...I wonder if this form will be in Raging Blast 3, too? It'd get it a nice ring to have the three game-exclusive Super Saiyan 3s in the third game of a series.

Then again, it'd be cool to get a damn OVA from Toei that has those three fighting, but that'll probably not happen.

Why don't they make a SSJ form for Raditz? Or really, any of the other Saiyan characters that don't already have that ability? This is like the perfect marketing opportunity they could milk the heck out of for future titles (new features!).

It'd certainly renew my interest in Dragon Ball video games, that's for sure. I've seen some pretty cool Raditz fan-art circling around the interwebs, and it'd be badass to see him as an actual Super Saiyan. Even if he is really weak by comparison.

Well, Bra doesn't fight, and Toriyama didn't know what how to do a female Super Saiyan back in the day.

At any rate though, the thing with the fantasy Super Saiyn 3 stuff is that it's been applied to characters that achieved Super Saiyn before.....for fighters of that level it is not impossible to learn how in theory. It's fair game for fantasy and yet not ridiculous.

But Raditz.....well. He just hasn't got it. Same deal for Nappa, which is just as well. I mean, Nappa with epic hair? That surely has to break some kind of rule!

They might as well go for broke and do it to Gohan at this point. It'd be cooler than Broly.......

I think his issue was dealing with the evil eye and muscle thing. Although at this point if somebody asked him to design one, he'd probably do whatever. I think Yamamuro Naoyoshi designed Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta and Broli, so he could probably do a Super Saiyan Pan if asked.

As for Gohan, eh. I tend to flip-back-and-forth on the subject, because...Ultimate Gohan is still going to be stronger, no matter what. Broli had the distinction of having green hair, at least.

I'd rather see Super Saiyan 3 Goten and Trunks, if anything. That or Cell with a Super Saiyan 3 aura.

He's just another game-exclusive character to help promote the game. I'm not sure if there's an official backstory for him yet.

They're game original characters. Basically, I believe they are the lead character that the player plays as while using the cards of other characters to fight with.

It's not a 'rumor', it's totally real. Here's a rough draft of the timeline they released for post-comic events. Basically, one day Majin Boo got lonely. He read Bob and Margaret, an adult novel that Rôshi had Gokû read back during their training for the twenty-first Tenka'ichi Budoukai to help him strengthen his reading skills. From this novel he got the idea to take a part of himself and create a wife, Booby. From there they began creating kids until the Majin race was born.
