The X-Box doesn't have one good game outside of Halo, and besides Halo 2, doesn't have any coming. The PS2, however, has MSG, GTA, FFX, and more. The GCN has Mario, Sonic, Zelda, Metroid, Starfox, and many more coming, including Final Fantasy titles. X-Box doesn't stand a chance.
What makes you think a PC is easier to program for than a console? Console games arn't designed on PC's, as some think.Originally posted by Batmex
The X-Box is much like an PC thus it's more easy for programmers to make games,.
If anyone loses the console war, it'll be Microsoft. Go Sony and Nintendo!

I'm reaching up and reaching out, I'm reaching for the random, or what ever will bewilder me.
And following our will and wind we may just go where no one's been.

In the end, ease of programming will have very little in determining the victor of the console wars. The PS2 is generally considered to be the hardest to program for, but there is no doubt in my mind it will have the largest gaming library, and most developers have no problem programming enjoyable, fun games for the system. So I think it's safe to say that programming for even the hardest console isn't as daunting a task is it may seem. Companies will put games on a system for only one reason: to make money. Basically, it will all come down to numbers, and the PS2 has the largest fan base and it seems will continue to for the foreseeable future.
My predictions:
1. PS2
2. GC
3. X-Box
By the way, is it really fair to judge the X-Box so harshly? When the PS2 came out it had very few good titles, and only recently have some of the best games come out. X-Box does have some interesting titles on the way: Jet Set Radio Future, Gunvalkyrie, Project Ego, Shenmue series, and I'm sure some of the people on these boards are at least slightly interested in Superman: The Man of Steel.
I know a lot of Genesis games were made on Amiga work stations as for modern gaming systems I think most of them are done on SGIs but it is possible to develop games on PC just most developers prefer more horse powerOriginally posted by Koggit

I don't think X-Box is a threat to PS2 of GC more like the other way around all I've seen for the X-Box is a lot of hype very few good games and a sound track.
Two words.
HELL NO!
Sony got way too many killer games
Metal Gear Solid 2
Grand Theft Auto 3
Finall Fantasy X
Twisted Metal Black
Virtual Fighter 4
Jax and Daxter
Gran Turismo 3
and so on.
Nintendo, even with Squaresoft by their side, is worse than X-box.
And the people who think they'll get Final Fantasy, keep dreaming, cause it won't happen!
You'll get something like Final Fantasy characters playing bowling or something like that.
If Nintendo wants to compete, they need
A Mario PLATFORM Game (No Mario Golf BS)
A Teen Rated Zelda Game (Not like the 64 attempts)
A Metroid Game (Should be coming out soon)
And to get away from Pokemon and games like Smash Bros Melee!
In other words They should Grow Up!
LONG LIVE SONY!
