A popular thread to post this - but then people always like giving opinions on fav games as they do with music... it's tribal...!

So I will push my constant and forever favourites once more...!

    1. Final Fantasy VII - THE best game ever - miss it and you are idiot (probably)
    2. Hardwar (PC) - Like Elite, but with a storyline and very intricate network of trade and profit.
    3. Chaos - Gallup's original RPG - WAYYYY before UFO and the likes! Perfect - emulate the speccy and get it now!!
    4. GTA 3 - Nuff said.
    5. Carmageddon 2 - It has a Delorean!? What more do you need!?
    6. Larn - Amiga Public Domain - and VERY hard to get on the PC - even through the net. If anyone has a PC run PD version of this game PLEASE contact me!!!!!!
    7. Final Fantasy VIII - Gameplay lacks, but it is beautiful to watch...
    8. Nether Earth - Speccy rules with this great strategy game with a brilliant theme tune!
    9. Final Fantasy XI - mixes beauty with reasonable gameplay. Not as good as VII.
    10. Blade Runner - Simply fantastic translation of the movie.

I don't have a "favorite" video game per se, but if you mean what video game do you play most often, since I got Metal Gear Solid in 1998, I've played, and beaten, it 13 times. God, I love that game...

Doesn't this belong in Cafe Toon Zone?

I could literally list over 100 games that are great, but I'll try to limit myself.
    Grim Fandango
    Curse of Monkey Island
    Escape from Monkey Island
    Day of the Tentacle
    Super Mario Bros.
    Metal Gear Solid
    Gran Turismo 1 & 2
    Chrono Trigger
    Super Metroid
    Rogue Trip
OK, those were the first 10 that came to mind, and I'll stop there. There are probably better games out there, but if I really try to make a list of my favorite games of all time I'll be up all night. And I know I cheated by counting both Gran Turismo games as only 1, but I don't want to make my list any smaller. Wow, even as I'm writing this post I keep thinking of more to add to the list. Castlevania: SOTN, Crash Team Racing, Mario Kart, Super Mario All-Stars (4 games in 1!)...

i agree,i could think of hundreds of games iv loved playing, like i love all the FF games and i love all the mortal kombat games and almost every game iv played i think is great....but then again im a videogame fanatic and once i start playing a game i usually cant stop and i end up admitting theres at least one kewl thing about it even if most of it sucked, lol

Id have to chose between Final Fantasy 3, Final Fantasy 7, and Metal Gear solid 1 & 2.... itd have to be Final Fantasy 3 because it was the first game i ever beat, had an awesome story wih cool characters, and i felt like i was watching this play unfold before me, instead of just playing some game....oh and i spent like 80 hours on it hehe. Pick it up if u havent played it

LOL, I was just about to move this into the AniTainment board when I read the subject title, but I guess through the posts here, that someone moved it here from there. I mean, no....we moderators always know what we're supposed to do... -_-

GTA3 and Goldeneye are the two best games for their respective systems. Both have kick-ass gameplay and unbelievable replay value. Go GTA3 and Goldeneye!

I've never been one to make 'Fave' lists, but I'll mention the ones that would definately be on there.

Smash Brothers Melee - I bought it for the nostalgia, and I still play it for the gameplay. Just plain awesome and probably one of the best party games around. If they didn't upgrade it with the GCN, I'd probably still be playing the 64 version too!

Secret of Mana - No turn based battles! And multiplayer! And cool anime graphics! And memorable characters (although they never really did give Sprite a name - I called him 'It' )! And awesome Boss battles! And Geshtar (hehe, always did love him)!

Mario 64 - I usually don't 'do' single-player games (not since Doom anyway...) but this game is one I can keep going back to just for sheer fun escapism and imagination. And Bowser, no matter how easy he is to beat now, is, while not difficult, the most fun boss to fight ever!

Half-Life: TFC - Okay, I know there's been graphic updates, and even gameplay twitches in the latest 1st person shooters, but TFC is still my fave. There's a thrill I get when a Rocket jump actually gets me up 200 feet, or when that Sniper round goes off and gibs fly everywhere. And beating the crap out of newbie HWGuys is always fun!

Doom II - My advent into multiplayer. It was a simple time when there was but two multiplayer options -Deathmatch-, or -Coop-. Both were great, and I rocked at DMing. Cooping was fun too, especialy on levels with all the bosses on it and respawning enemies. And the fright one got when seeing that Revenant coming out of nowhere is thrilling. Ah, sometimes we'd just rampage across the final level, seeing how laggy we could get the game with the piling up of sprite-based corpses...

Super Bomberman - When I couldn't DM with Doom II, I'd usually turn to this game! Not only was it cute and fun, but I could get my female compadres to play as well. IMO, they haven't done a Bomberman as good as this one yet.

Zelda 3: A Link to the Past - Just, bar-none, the best Zelda game still. Ages/Seasons comes close, but LTTP just plain was epic for Zelda games. And thats saying a lot.

Other notable mentions are Spy Vs. Spy, RC Pro Am, Super Off Road, Ice Hockey (my first game ever!), Track & Field, SMB1&3&World, Yoshi's Island, Earthbound, FF3/6, FF2/4 (I still think its better than 3/6, but I'd rather not debate it), and Super Dodge Ball.

Woo man, thats a lot of memories...

    All time favorite game?

Metroid. I can't count the number of times I've gone back to play this again...
My origins have been clouded in mystery... some say that I was once a man, known as Hamato Yoshi. Another tale states that I was once merely a humble pet rat of a man named Hamato Yoshi. For the record allow me to state that both are true... and yet, neither is true. Such is the way of Ninjitsu.

My favorite video games would have to be:

Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past for being the first one I ever got addicted to

Super Mario RPG for being the first RPG I ever played

Super Mario World cuz it was so much fun

Final Fantasy VII cuz it was the first game ever to make me cry

Final Fantasy IX cuz it was so much fun to play

Final Fantasy X because it is just such a beautiful game

Final Fantasy V because the job system is so cool

Legend of Zelda: Ocarana of Time because it was just a really cool game

Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask because, well, I really don't know, but I loved this one

Super Mario Kart because it was SOOOOOO much fun to play!

So there's my top ten list. It's really in no particular order.

"She's convinced she could hold back a glacier, but she couldn't keep baby alive"- Tori Amos "Spark"
