The original Nintendo will always be the best. Super Nintendo comes in second with the Atari at a close third.

When the PS2, Gamecube and X-Box came out anyone with money ran out immediately get a nextgen system (I plan to get one but haven't yet) With all that hype which of the old systems do you like the best.
(I tried to include everything I could think of, but I can only put 10 and I left out the hand-helds.)

Good ol' SNES got my vote. Boy, do I miss Pocky and Rocky, the original StarFox, Bubsy Bobcat...![]()
Original NES was a close second, tho.
"Pinky, my parents...they're driving me insane!"
"Egad Brain, really? Ooh, well that kinda leaves me without much to do..."
SNES for me...Dreamcast came so close, but I consider that a "Next-Gen" system..

Dreamcast is old school?
You put Jaguar but not SMS Sega's first console (well the first one that didn't suck and the first to be sold outside Japan) and what about CD32 the first 32-bit cd based console.
Anyway the best has got to be the Atari 2600 made the father of video game systems Jay Miner it lasted from 1977 to 1984 and came back in '85 in limmited production till the 90's no other console in the universe stayed in production that long.
Ooh, that Jaguar is up there, but no Turbo GrafX

Atari. That is about as old school as you get! It's more old school than most of the systems listed here!
The reason he didn't put all of them in was because there wasn't enough spaces. I'm sure he would've put all of the systems (TurboGrafX, 32bit, Sega CD-blah blah blah blah), had there been more spaces..
or he just forgot about them...lol

Well, Genesis had the better capabilities of its time, so that gets my vote. Sega is the most unappreciated company in the gaming industry.
SNES was second on my list, as I think it had the second-best capabilities of its time. N64 is third, because it was just soooo awesome for a cartridge-based system.
Yeah that's the problem with only 10 spacesI put up Dreamcast because they don't make then much anymore and you can get one for about 50 bucks.
Anyway, I voted for SNES. The Adventures of Batman & Robin, Mario RPG, WWF Royal Rumble, even the Star Trek: TNG game are some of favs. What's not to love?

SNES..no contest
Between the huge library of great games, comfortable controller (though the color scheme was better on the Japaneese versions)
Heck, Legend of Zelda - Link to the Past is reason enough to love this system. If the bring that game to GBA, there will be nothing stopping me from aquireing a GBA & the game.
Genesis, baby! Castlevania: Bloodlines, Vectorman, & Sonic & Knuckles made my (ongoing) childhood a happy one.
Sega Genesis. My life would have had no meaning without Sonic the Hedgehog. I had a serious problem.
Heh, we're getting to see who took which side in the SNES/Genesis wars now.
I took the side of the Genesis. The Sonic games were great and have very high replay value. I had an Atari and an NES but neither one of those had games that could be played over and over during a long period of time like some of the Genesis games. Plus, most NES games and none of the Atari games had a save feature. Though I have to give NES a lot of credit for Zelda, I don't think that it has the kind of replay of Sonic games.
Also, another thing about a Sonic game is that if I just had to waste 15 minutes or so, I could put in the game and just polish off a couple of levels for kicks. I guess that's true of most games (Super Mario Bros. comes to mind, as well as many Atari games) but I think that Sonic was just more fun.
I did have quite a few games for Genesis, but those Sonic ones really stood out.
Why yes it is after all there not going to make any more soon i pick N64 cuz i like it but SNES2nd NES3rd And Thats all id pickOriginally posted by ccffan01
Dreamcast is old school?
I feel the need to post again (why do I in every video game topic? It's not right..)...
The reason I liked Mario over Sonic? Simple..with Mario, you could chose which board you wanted (without a cheat code of course) w/o having to play through it all over again (like Sonic).
However, I did (and still do [Sega Smash Pack, Vol.1 on Dreamcast baby!]) enjoy Sonic the Hedghog and other various Genesis games.
But, I am, and always will be, a Nintendo fan boy. And you can quote me on that..
Which is why, if I ever blow-up over a XBOX vs. GameCube thread, please pardon anythings I say and simply repeat in your head "he's a nintendo fanboy".![]()

SNES had all of the good games. I think I'm going to have to play some ROM's now.
