O.K. I know the continuity in fighting games aren't all that strong and these things shouldn't be over-analyzed but shouldn't Mokoto be like 12-years-old at this point in continuity (yes Sakura; yes Yun's and Yang's cameo)? Couldn't they have her dad and have him killed off in the story or something like that?

Why are ppl saying SF:III wasn't a big hit? I mean, yeah, when it first came out it didn't explode like the SF:II or alpha series. But, it seems now SF:III series finally made it to the top.
The only series I kind of feel like it should get some cameos are from SF:EX series.

Anyways, I'm happy capcom going to try to expand the SF:III in the next SF:IV series.
I mean, pretty much all of SF: series have a somewhat connection to each other (Even SF:EX also count as well.)
Though, in the SF:III series, it really didn't have any connection to any other SF series.
It almost felt like a stand alone game.

Anyway, I love SF:III and I'm happy its somewhat making a comeback.

I agree... Believe it or not 3 is my least favorite out of the SF series... (I've yet to play the Ex games.) But everywhere I tend to go seems to have people praising 3 over all the other games. It's pretty shocking to hear that 3 was never on top. (Seriously, with the amount of praises I've heard for it, it's hard to believe that.)

I've only ever played 3 in the arcades, and as primarily a console d-pad user, I loved it.

Gorgeous 2D animations, interesting characters, complexity that I will never fully grasp (I'm really bad at fighters) and it just felt like a giant step up from Street Fighter 2.

I'm not sure where all these people hyped for 4 came from, but they were definitely not there for 3 when it came out, and that's a shame. They really missed out.

Personally, I love SF:III because its was the very SF game I ever played. Same goes with Alpha. I played SF:EX when I was 14 and I finally played SF:II when I was 16. Yes, kind of late. lol
I just SF:III so much because of the music, gameplay, the animation, characters and story.

I'm still waiting for a SF:III anime movie/OVA Capcom. MAKE IT!

Whatever, I'm happy with BlazBlue anyway. If I do get it I'd just get the first game for the $30 it now is. I sure wouldn't pay $60 for three characters. Three!
If you have a decent PC fightpad or joystiq and you're looking for the best possible price, keep an eye out for Steam sales. It's $40 there right now, but it's dipped as low as $20 more than once.

The first two editions for SFIII were pretty half-assed. Especially the first one since it was probably rushed to market considering all the missing sprites, characters, and music.

Also, to be fair, between the first release of Street Fighter II and Street Fighter III, there was at least 4 upgraded versions of SFII, 3 Alpha games (not counting the 3rd one which came out in 1998), and 2 crossover fighters. So it was less of a leap and more of a transition period.

    I still hate parrying though.

I see your point, though I only ever played 3rd Strike, so I don't really know how the first two play.

It still bothers me how Capcom treats the game, since they even went out of their way to make 4 take place before the 3rd game and didn't even bring any characters over from it.

I don't think I'll ever grasp Parrying, but I do prefer Just Defend, though.

Super Street Fighter IV sounds about right since how much they're adding into this thing. Amazing list of stuff (a 720 air super/ultra? Holy...)

Oh man, the return of the other supers/ultras has made my day. I'm assuming Psycho Punisher is probably the Super Psycho Crusher from Alpha 3/ Capcom vs SNK, and Demon Armageddon is the rain of Hadoukens attack that Akuma had in the Marvle vs Capcom games.

The new characters also sound far more interesting than the ones from the first release.

..>Considering what was just recently announced for BlazBlue, I find this comment kinda hilarious.

As is, the rumors I've been hearing about the new SF make me interested enough that I'm going to keep tabs on it. Especially if the rumor about Ibuki, Makoto, and Dudley are true.

The only good thing about SF3 IMO were the new female characters so if the rumors are true least some of what made SF3 good will be added :P

Technically Yun was the best thing about SF3.

But I'll take this over nothing.

The icon and model for T. Hawk look exactly the same as the one he has for HD Remix.

Still, I'm glad to see some sort of confirmation. I want to use those Final Fight characters so badly.

People people people, you're missing the grand scale of this news and this revelation that is Super Street Fighter IV: We're actually going to get Balrog vs Dudley. Honestly, that makes the game a winner all together. The fight everyone's been waiting for.

I'm more interested in Fei Long vs. Guy. (Or anyone dealing with flashy-ness and speed.) I've never been interested in the boxers... Come to think of it I've never played with Balrog a day in my life.
