the more chance of getting ho-oh/lugia is the colo/xd game still selling?
and legit celebi
But still I sort of find it foolish that once the DSi launches that people will get rid of their old DS's. I still have my GBA, My DS Phat after I went and upgraded to a DS Lite. After all holding on the DS Phat allows me to trade over from the old games, and my GBA allows me to connect to the GCN games.

I'm on aboard with the idea of a remake. I loved Silver more than any other Pokemon game, it was the only game that had a awesome rival and the pokemon in that region are my favorite.
And come on, who does not want to kick Red's butt again?
Victory Road could be ever so devastatingly tantalizing. I don't remember the Jôto map on hand, but I think Victory Road could be save for a possible Kantô expansion. Will more room on a DS card Much of Kantô could be restored...although I would miss some elements like the warden being on vacation. Those small little plot details are always nice.
But yeah, I'm really hankerin' to play GSC right now. Not sure if my Gold still works or what, though. I really love the old strategy guide that came out for GS so I might look through that again, for nostalgia's sake.
Part of me hopes the clone glitch would be retained in a remake, though.![]()
Yeah, I don't quite understand that either. I still have my Game Boy Color after getting my Game Boy Advance and my Game Boy Advance SP. I haven't gotten a DS Lite though.
Oh yeah. I would definitely love a legit Celebi.Originally Posted by warnerbroman
Yep, that Victory Road in G/S/C was really long. I remember having a hard time with it the first time I played the game.Originally Posted by PC!

While there hasn't been any official word from Nintendo about a remake of G/S, there have been quite a few hints here and there. There have been some Pokemon in the current anime saga from the Johto generation, such as Aipom, Gligar and Swinb. Of course, the inclusion of the Pichu and the three Johto starters in Movie 12 would feel really odd if a remake wasn't in the works. I actually haven't tried playing my G/S/C games in ages, but it wouldn't surprise me if the batteries had run out.
There's also the fact that the fifth generation won't come out anytime soon so Nintendo would definitely need something inbetween fourth and fifth generation games. Besides that, I'm sure that a lot of people would buy them. I definitely would buy them. Silver was the first Pokemon game that I ever got and playing a remake would have more nostalgia value for me. It would be really awesome to play it, especially if the G/S remakes had the same level of quality, at least, as the FireRed and LeafGreen games.
Has Nintendo officially said Generation V is a ways off? I mean, at this rate it could still be another year before the next games are ready.
And the next handheld.
Well my stance on when a new generation comes out is this
New System=New Generation
You never really see any games outside spin-offs series get sequels on the handhelds when the main games comes out. Whenever I see a new handheld, that when I think they'll release a new game. Unless Nintendo decides to make a 4th game in the DPP saga.

That's not the same Victory Road as Kanto's. It just happens to be IN Kanto, but it's technically Johto's Victory Road.
Well, the only reason those three Pokemon are in the anime right now is because they have brand new evolutions to show off. Wouldn't surprise me if someone ended up catching a Magmar or a Tangela down the road to show off their new evolutions, as well.
They haven't said anything, but at the usual rate that new games come out, I'd estimate we'll be seeing the next generation in 2011 at the earliest. I'd expect Platinum this year, a GSC remake next year, and the next games in the series the following year.

The only one that made sense at the beginning was Aipom since Aipom was apart of the original Sinnoh Dex, and you can catch that with the help of the honey tree. Swinub and Gligar, as with every other Pokemon that was introduced in that generation have been retconned into Platinum Sinnoh Dex. Sure it makes no sense that after Dialga, Palkia, and Manaphy that non legendary surpass them, but whatever.

This is mainly the reason why I believe that they will come out with the remake soon. It's just like how Haruka recieved Bulbasaur to promote FireRed and LeafGreen during Advanced Generation.Originally Posted by PC!
The thing with the GSC victory road is that it was the length of the original Victory Road PLUS the whole way you had to go through just to GET to the Victory Road the first time around. That was a real pain in the behind -- without a high enough team you could get halfway beaten to nothing by the time you even got to the DAMN CAVE!
Caves and tunnels are really my least favorite part of Pokémon games.
Than and warp tile labyrinths! GAH!!

Don't forget those moving panels that make you go in one direction. Who does that benefit? Sure I mean it good to avoid people, but it has to be a pain in the ass for the employees there.

Caves are definitely the most annoying, mainly because every single floor tile can yield a wild pokemon. Worst is when you're forced to bring a pokemon with Flash.
I would also like to see a remake, and I hope this time Kanto actually feels like a second half instead of just a few extra gyms. With the expanded DS memory, it shouldn't be an excuse.

Agreed. And because it was so great as is, I don't think they should remake it (Fire Red and Leaf Green wasn't as good as the originals IMO, despite the techincal upgrades), but they definately should rerelease it for the DS somehow due to the battery problems with the original Gameboy versions.I'm happy they threw the Kanto Gyms in in the first place. Having a second region to run through after game's end is more than any of the other main games have given us. Just another reason GSC was the best.
I'm sure that remakes will be done, and hopefully sooner than later. There has been no news up to this point. But the 2nd-Generation Starters making an apperence in the 12th movie could possibly be hinting at the fact, that somthing is in the works. I have never played anything past Gold/Silver version (mostly becuase I didn't have a GBA or SP) but I think when the remakes do come out, I thinkk it will be time to upgrade.
Why Give Up? Why Give In?It's Not Enough, It Never Is.But I Will Go On Until The End.
