DREAMCAST. LONG LIVE SEGA.
If not my great dc, then probably the PS2.
I finally have enough money for one of those new game consoles! I was thinking of PS2 or Gamecube. Also the XBox look great. There are many good games for the Cube, PS2, and XBox. I want to know what you guys think is best.

I have a PS2, and I'm loving it! Although, some of the games do get tiresome...
Right now, the Game Cube is the 'crap-console' IMO. There are no games on it I want, & it's just not all that appealing, in the long run. Now Sega is going to be pumping it full of re-used games I already own on the DC. No need for a GC.
When the price goes down, I'm going to get an XBox. Thats my decision for today. Why? Well, the system may be really big(as are those frickin' big controllers!!), BUT, smart little Bill Gates got a ton of exclusive licenses that I REALLY want. I've been a long time 'Jet Set Radio'(err...Jet GRIND Radio), and Dead Or Alive fan. Both of which, their latest 'sequals' are out, exclusively on the XBox. And I REALLY want those two games. But, I'm not going to get it just for those two..there are a lot of other games that look very cool. But, I'm still going to wait till...maybe this summer? I'm sure the $$ will drop down abit. I have patience.
Maybe you could help us out be saying what kinds of games you like. Try listing some of your favorites.
Well, my brother owns GameCube and X-BOX....
I hate X-BOX. The controller is unconfortable, and the games don't appeal to me (though I am going to get a Star Wars game for it [Starfighter..since I don't have a PC or PS2]). I thought the game "BloodWake" looked great. I was gonna buy it and everything...but..I played a demo of it....and it's boring...
But, it could just me powerful hate for X-BOX..lol.
I personally like the Cube better anyway...just because it has more games I wanna play. Remember: the GAMES have to be the deciding factor in your purchase. Not the power of the system, not the life of the system...the GAMES. Somthing you know you'll be happy with..

1. Mario series
2. Dead or Alive series
3. Street Fighter
4. Zelda series
5. Grand Turismo series
6. Resident Evil series
7. Mega Man series
8. Perfect Dark
9. Marvel vs. Capcom
10. Grand Theft Auto series
I am also trying to make this decision. You guys should put up a poll.

With your list I would suggest the Gamecube, possibly the PS2. The Mario, Zelda, and Resident Evil series will be on Gamecube, but the Gran Turismo series is strictly PlayStation. Grand Theft Auto might make it on to Gamecube, and I'm not really sure about the fighting games, though I would say they should all end up on PS2 at some point. Though I'm a PlayStation fan, I would have to suggest Gamecube for you, just because it seems to have most of the exclusive titles you like, and a lot of third party games end up going multiplatform anyway. Hope this helped.
GameCube= Super Smash Bros. Melee, Star Wars: Rouge Leader
X-Box= HALO!!!!!!!!!! You don't need another reason.
PS2=Metal Gear Solid 2, Grand Theft Auto 3, Devil May Cry, Gran Turismo 3, Maximo (old-school glory).
My advice? PS2. More games, better games, and the ability to play old PS1 games makes it my overall choice.
But that's just my opinion.

GTA 3 is so amazing it deserves its own system. That game, and Metal Gear Solid 2 being exclusive to PS2 make that the system to buy in my view. There are too few games that are exclusive to other systems to go the other way (Star Wars: Rouge Squardon 2 and Halo come to mind) but they aren't that good.
In my eyes, go with the PS2- it has the most and the best games.

If you want games NOW then it would be either the PS2 or DC the DC library of games it not gona get much bigger. Now Game Cube is cheap so it is a good buy but you are gona have to have faith that games are comming for it
I am indiffernt about the PS2 I see it really as PS 1 and a 1/2 it has bottle necks and not really a clean design (kinda like the Saturn just not as bad) but it has good support from devlopers
X-Box well being a Mac and Amiga user I wouldn't touch M$ with a 10 foot pole plus I have a bad feeling that the X-Box is gona be polluted with even more half ass games then the PSX had.
tough call, seeing as how most of today's games suck.
i wish i could have all 3 systems for different reasons, but i bought a cube because of the price and melee.
I hate myself and I want to die.

GBA! & an SNES, and you've got it made. the SNES is my favorite console of all time. It had a ton of great games, and it's controller was confortable, and functional. So it doesn't play DVDs, a DVD player's only 100, which you'll more than save if you buy a used SNES over a PS2, or even a GC.
GBA....oh, I gotta get me one of those...
As The Dark Knight said, from your list, it sounds like the Cube or PS2 would be your best bet.
Personally, I went with the PS2 for a number of reasons. First of all, its a multi-media machine - you can not only play PS2 games, but also PS1 games, CDs, and DVDs. The Cube can't play DVDs, which was a big factor for me. And since the PS2 can play the PS games, the PS2 has the largest library of games of any system available. But, as has been stated, you've got to make sure that the games in that library appeal to you.
Don't be convinced to buy a system just for their "exclusives" either. Very few of the franchises are truely "exclusive". True, you're not going to see FF on the other consoles anytime soon, and you're probably not going to find Zelda on the PS at any point. But a lot of the other "exclusives" are only limited time exclusives. Right now, Resident Evil has become a Cube exclusive, but only for a few years. After that, the latest in the series will most likely find its way onto the other consoles. And this is happening more and more with "exclusives".
So, figure out what you want from your system first - just games, or the ability to do other things like play DVDs as well. Then take a look at the games currently available, and what's coming out in the near future. And from there, you should be able to make a good decision.

I was going to have to say a Game Cube but with Zelda being pushed back and not that many games on the market I would have to say a PS2. Sad part is the main reason I want it is because of Batman: Vengence. I was going to get it on GC but then I realized it didn't have all of the animated sequences on it and was therefore not worth my time. Someday I plan on picking up either a GC or PS2 but that'll probably be around the time Zelda is released.

Well, I own a Gamecube, and I've never regretted it. I'm also a longtime Nintendo fan, so I'm not bothered by delays. If anything, they've taught me to be patient for a game that will be that much more polished when it DOES come out. I'm not really interested in what PS has to offer, and X-Box... well... I already own two computers. I don't need a third.
My origins have been clouded in mystery... some say that I was once a man, known as Hamato Yoshi. Another tale states that I was once merely a humble pet rat of a man named Hamato Yoshi. For the record allow me to state that both are true... and yet, neither is true. Such is the way of Ninjitsu.
it is identical....every single version of B:V (sans the GBA one) is identical....Originally posted by Clayface
