Super Smash Bros Brawl - Online Tournament Groups, Matches and Results Thread

Welcome to Toon Zone's first online SSB Brawl Tournament. It will consist of 24 players divided in four groups of six, which are listed as follows:

The groups were chosen by lottery, using a random number generator.

What you need to do is have a Brawl against all the people in your group. All Brawls will be 1-on-1, 3-stock, no time limit, and best out of 3 matches. This is all explained in the original RULES THREAD, as well as the setting of stages and items, so please re-read it before starting matches.

Once you meet someone and have a Brawl, the results must be posted here. It's IMPORTANT to remember this: Each Brawl consists of three matches, and all three matches must be played even if the same player wins the first two. This is because one point will be awarded for every won match. I.E. if P1 wins all 3 matches against P2, P1 will win 3 points, but if P1 wins the first two matches and P2 wins the last one, that's two points for P1 and one point for P2.

Once all Brawls are played the points will be summed up and the best two of each group will pass to the next phase.

Thanks to Knighthammer for making this spreadsheet that shows in detail the names, codes and characters for each player. If you still haven't added someone, I suggest you to do so now. You have to add at least all the ones you have to brawl against.

Here's another spreadsheet showcasing all the valid stages for each player. When you have to brawl against someone, simply look at the sheet and note what stages you have in common. Those are the ones where the matches must take place in. In case there are no stages in common, the players must vote for one of their own stages (provided it's not on the other player's banned list) and let the game decide.

EDIT:Another spreadsheet detailing the banned stages has been added.

Some of you have less than seven stages. You can send me a PM so I can add the extra stages and edit the sheet (you can't change stages at this point, though). If you want to edit something on the first spreadsheet, though, you'll have to ask Knighthammer.

The deadline for all matches is May 9th, any matches not played by that date will be scored with no points for both players.

Remember to be honest when posting your results, which must be all posted in this thread. Any doubts you may have post them here as well and I'll answer them.

Should anyone in group D wish to schedule matches, PM me. I'm on Eastern Time and I have a normal working schedule so weekends and (some) weeknights will usually work. I consider this a better alternative to hanging around online hoping someone will be on, particularly in my case as I share the main television with three other people.

Hopefully, connectivity will work out for all.

How come there isn't a chart for the players pick of banned stages? I mean it more helpful if I have the chart in front of me than back tracking to my computer to know what stage I shouldn't fight on.

I'll edit it soon to add the Banned Stages, although you particularly shouldn't worry since you have a stage in common with everyone in your group.

If you go to the Official Talkback Thread for SSBB, there's a recent post showing the compiled list of FCs for all members, and also some of them have information on what time zone they reside in and what times they'll be on-line. You can post your on-line hours there as well.

So is someone else going to pay for the prize if Jave happens to win? It would be rather anticlimactic if the tournament ended with him buying himself a 500 point Virtual Console game.

Punisher and I got our matches in.

1 to 2, favor Punisher.

First match was a clear victory for me.

Second match was a pretty tight, good run (I blame item and lag death )

Last match, I think I gave him too much Peach lovin'. His ROB beat me like an animal

I defintely wasn't expecting you to use Peach, and you're really good with her. The first match was pretty much me on the recieving end of a beatdown, after getting bombarded by turnips I hung out on the top level of Shadow Moses too much for my own good and Peach took advantage. The second match though I caught an extremely lucky break by getting that giant mushroom near the end and KO'ing you at a very low percentage. The third match was obviously my favorite, as getting up to 300% before losing my first life helped tremendously .

Those were some fun matches, Knighthammer, you're defintley one of the best smash players I've come across.

Edit: Looking it over, The Summit has basically been banned from Group B. Period. Awesome.

So this Friday or Saturday he said he would fight me again for the next 2 rounds we have to do.

Both you and him have to have the items disabled.

I would suggest both of you pop into a brawl offline and set the items there, then play again.

Do be advised, item toggels is something you need to unlock >.>

If one of you haven't unlocked it, then there might be some issues.

Boy, my group isn't going to be an easy one.

If anyone wants to fight me, just PM me. I'll have set the rules to turn on certain items and such. I'll be busy this weekend though with work, so I won't really get a chance to play much this week.

Finished my opening round match with Jave and won 3 out of 3. Pretty good set of matches. Jave, I have to say you're really good with Wolf. I enjoyed the intensity of our last match. And if you hadn't fallen with Zelda so early in the first match, the results of that match may have been different.
