    Wireless Nunchucks heading our way!

    Like This Thread!
I actually posted this in the Virtual Console (Wii) thread, which, unfortunately, didn't seem like the right thread.

It seems that we're going to have Wireless Nunchucks for the Nintendo Wii by March of 2008 from Nyko.

    http://www.nyko.com/nyko/products/?i=133#

Enjoy a new found freedom in all of your Wii games with the Wireless Nunchuck from Nyko. The Wireless Nunchuck provides all the same abilities and features of the wired version, but with no cables tethered to the Wii remote. The Wireless Nunchuck is compatible with all Wii software that utilizes the Nunchuk attachment and requires no additional software or modification of the Wii hardware to work, simply plug and play. The lightweight and compact dongle attaches to the bottom of the remote and provides a wireless range of up to 3 meters. Two AAA batteries (included) provide up to 30 hours of game play for extended gameplay sessions. The Wireless Nunchuck is the ideal solution for users demanding more flexibility and freedom while playing their favorite Wii games

Feh, why couldn't they have made those back when I was actually buying Wii controllers? I guess saving batteries is a good thing, though...

Unless it's an official licensed product from Nintendo, I'm not interested.

I take all third party game accessories with a grain of salt. I've heard the horror stories from people who have stated how they can work like new one day and break down a couple days later. Buyer beware.

It was announced a while ago so you could have waited if you were looking for a nunchuck.

While its true that third party products are usually bad quality Nyko has actually proven their worth, you can't go wrong with these. Main problems i have with them are is a wireless nun chuck really necessary? The cord is big enough for any movement and doesn't really tangle. Like the wireless sensor bar it creates new problems to replace the ones its fixing. It now uses batteries and would now be easier to lose.

I was indeed waiting for this since I needed a second nunchuck but then I realized I didn't really need one. Most multiplayer games on the wii usually include a wiimote only control, and while its never as good as a nunchuck combination the only time I use two wiimotes is among friends who just want to play for a few minutes, and for that it works more than fine.

Speaking of which, how long until a developer figures out that you can hold a Wii-mote in each hand, and make a game that requires dual-wielding?

But yeah, I'll wait for the official one.

    .
I was thinking about that at one point and then there is one problem with that set up. Unless the game is on rails or doesn't require movement it would be pretty hard to move the character your playing as.

Apparently its never going to happen, I've been wanting this since the Wiimote was revealed. In fact the video that revealed the Wii shows a guy drumming with two wiimotes!

But since the nunchuck also has motion sensing they just use that instead, you don't really need two "pointers". In fact I read an interview about a year ago were they mentioned just that, with the nunchuck there was no need for a two wiimotes game. Which is a shame, I still think there lots of potential for it.

I understand people being untrusting of a third party when it comes to attachments, controllers, and memory cards, but Nyko has proven their worth on more than one occasion. Their Charge Station works great and the Perfect Shot is far better than Nintendo's own Wii Zapper. Nyko is really the only third party I trust with this kind of thing.

A wireless nunchuck is indeed cool, but I'm not sure how much I need it. Though it would make Wii Boxing better. I'm undecided on this one. Depends how much it is compared to the regular Nunchuck.

I think it's great that Nyko is coming up with a wireless solution for the nunchuck, but I'm still waiting for more options on wireless classic controllers. So far, I've only seen Thrustmaster put out one. With the Wavebird being officially discontinued, this is a nice alternative.

You know, people say this, but for my Gamecube, the only things that are still alive are two (of six) 3rd Party Controllers. Three official Nintendo Controllers broke, along with one unofficial. Most bought within a year of eachother, too.

BUT, to get on topic... I see no major use for a Wireless Nunchuck. I mean, if you were heavy into Wii Boxing, maybe... but for the most part, I'm fine with wires.

If it isn't from Nintendo, I am not buying it. First party accessories are the only way I go.

I'm not sure I'd want to know what you do with your controllers that would make the official ones break with so much ease. Mine are still holding out to this day.
