Validation key troubles

I bought Age of Empires III and when I go to install it and enter the validation key, which is 26 characters, I can't put it all in because there is only room for 25 characters on the screen! It goes like:
0000000000 - 00 - 000000/000 - AAAA (0 = #, A = letter), and on the screen the slots go:
------ ------ ------ ------ ------ on the box.

I figured it might be the slash is telling me that I can use either the numbers before or after it in the same sequence, but no. I can't for the life of me figure out how it expects me to copy the code.

Firstly, help. Second, did anyone else have to deal with this bulldung?

Hmmm, thats an odd one. Maybe calling Microsoft Tech Support might help.
