I have to say though, the hi-res intro images look severely downgraded. I mean, obviously, but I wasn't sure to what degree.

Effectively FF12:RW is pretty much along the same train of thought as FFF:Chocobo Tales from what I understand

an RPG intended for younger audiences, not nessiceraly a bad thing, but for those looking for the full experience may find it lacking.

The entire story is really just a side story and won't really bring any new revelations if you've allready played 12. Even though it's a prequel of sorts it's not as connected in the events that take place as the likes of 10 and 10-2 apparently.
