congrats! i have yet to sell my soul in order to afford a ps2. the girl in the commercial is hot though.
...YAYAY!!!
I'm soooo thrilled I beat the game!!
The final battles weren't that difficult (well, at least once I spent about 4 hours working on the stats of Tidus, Auron & Wakka, they werren't) Ending wasn't half bad, either, tho it seemed kinda short considering it's a Final Fantasy (and previous endings are usually at least half hour). I *almost* shed a tear in the ending... was very moving... but left you asking a LOT of questions... (Damn you Square!)
Course, by no means did I have everything... so, I suppose this means I'm just gonna have to play it again, and use the help guide this time to get me everything
Don't you people understand!?!

I hate myself and I want to die.
Hey, that's great. I've got some questions for you, though. A friend of mine has beat it too, and he was very disappointed with the game. I think he said it was because of the ending, though he didn't elaborate on what about it. And I could be wrong, but I think he said the only FF he found worse was 8. That seemed kind of harsh. Was the ending bad? What did you think of the game compared to past Final Fantasy games? Where would you rank it among the others?Originally posted by Colin

I played a bit of it, and it's a very linear game, moreso than previous ones. My friend says the story is good until the last 10% of the game. I thought it was good for the little I saw.
The graphics and battle system is quite nice, and the characters are more agreeable than the ones in FFVIII. Actually, they're pretty likeable. Especially cutey BUBBLES! Cartoon cartoons! (Those who've played it know what I'm referring to)
It's more of a "movie" game than a game, as past PS FFs have been moving towards (excepting FF IX).
Ending wise, like I said... it wasn't the same as the end... it was a short ending, but the ending DID manage to do what previous FF titles do... and that's elicit the emotions of the gamer after having completed the Final Battle to see what the repercussions of everything is.Originally posted by DarkAngel

The graphics in this game are amazing, and I found that actually having the characters talk was great fun! The battling system was well designed and, unlike the other games, they made it so you *had* to use everyone and could... not you have to use everyone but you can't.
The story was very linear, only moving down one path in a story will do that, you know... but it was a progressive plot that kept everything rolling until it all got tied up at the end.
I thought Square did a mervelous job with the game, and personally, I rank it as one of the bests, up there with FF7

I still haven't gotten to the end... I'm having to squeeze FFX in around my busy schedule... but I'm really enjoying it. Aside from Blitzball. Dangit, I need the decent overdrives for Wakka, but I keep getting my arse kicked! Sigh.
I think I'm about 80% done with it (well, the plot anyway, not the side stuff), but I've been having a blast. I'm not sure how I'd rank the Final Fantasies, but this one would be up there.
