What games do you know of that are banned? I know that they just banned Grand Theft Auto 3. What others games can you think of?

I don't think it's been officially banned, but there is a movement to get it banned.

At the moment, it's banned in Australia. It's also very hard now to get copies of 1,2 and London '69. All of those have also been pulled off the market.

Anyone remember "Night Trap" for Sega CD? It sucked with a capitol "S", but it got banned back in '93, I think.

What about Conker's Bad Fur Day? I haven't played that one, but I've heard it is D-I-R-T-Y. It's probably banned somewheres.

What? Why'd they ban it? Only because you can run over Harri Christnas...(I know I spelled that wrong, but I always failed that section of English class).

There are several Japanese games I've seen on rom sites that are nothing more than hentai slide shows. Can something be banned if it never comes here? >grins<

    - The Dark Knight Triumphant

Australia also banned the Sam&Max cartoon.

Anyway I remeber a German game where you run a hospital (I think it is called Biing) was banned in North Amercia since one of the things you can do is undress nurses (natch undressing nurses has nothing to do with the gameplay)

I remeber Princess Maker came to North America but I don't remember seeing it anywhere, was it banned?

    PG-13 answers to "why"...

I absolutely understand why they would ban Grand Theft Auto 3.

I heard Opie and Anthony discuss the game out on 102.7 WNEW, and boy, I wasn't sure if I was impressed, disgusted, or thought it was hilarious.

Here's a few things that I heard about the game. Because of the content, I put it in spoilers.

    Spoiler:
Let's see...there's a cheat where you hijack a helicopter, fly off to a theme park, kill someone in a costume, put on the costume, and proceed to blow tourists away, not to mention various dancing rabbits.

    Spoiler:
You can go to a stadium, use the tank cheat multiple times to block all exits, then proceed to massacre 3000 people.

Oh yeah, here's how you have your health raised...

Note to mods: I'm dead serious about all of this, especially this last one.

    Spoiler:
To raise your health, you have sex with a hooker in the woods and then beat her senseless.

    Twisted, innit?

I wanted to pick up "Thrill Kill" for the playstation one a long time ago, but I was saddened to find out that it had been banned pretty much everywhere for excessive violence and mayham because parents got iffy again. It made me want to play Doom again

Xenogears almost didn't make it stateside because they were worried parents would complain about the religious overtones in the game. Thankfully, they did import it (as it's one of my all time favorite games).

I've actually got a copy of Thrill Kill and it's weird (understatement) and really not that good. I think that it's more of a novelty here in the U.S. if you search on the net I'm sure that you can find a copy somewhere.

Thrill Kill wasn't technically banned... Electronic Arts decided on its own that it didn't want to risk the bad press by releasing it.

Conker's Bad Fur Day isn't banned anywhere, I don't think... although in Europe, Nintendo lost the guts to publish it and sold the rights to THQ. The game certainly isn't the dirtiest thing ever, but it's pretty raunchy and darned funny. And, strangely enough, there's a great game hiding in there.
