Not only are his methods of theft questionable, are there even 60 PSP games worth stealing?

Mind you I have'nt been in BB in YEARS but did'nt their games used to be behind the counter? It seems stupid on their part to have them out in the open like that.

Yes, they keep them behind the counter, at least the main console games. I've never lived in an area that has a Blockbuster with portable games.

And wouldn't the security devices lodged in the boxes have told someone he was stealing?

The article states an employee told him to stop and he ran out of the store. So I doubt a sounding alarm would matter much to the guy stealing the stuff.

wooo the guy fled in a rental car no wonder he's stealing games, betcha he wont be hard to catch now, unless he provided false information to get the rental car. And unless he trys to be a real felon, he'll be turning in the rental car eventually

I doubt he would stop when some nerdy guy told him to anyways. He's gonna break away because he's made a firm decision on his actions.

Blockbuster keeps games that are for sale out on the shelves (with security tags). As Bird Boy said, though, it sounds like the guy just took off when the alarms sounded.

At Blockbuster we keep new PS2/XBOX/Gamecube games $20 or less on the shelf in security locks. Used games are behind the counter in drawers next to the rental copies of games. Any games $20 or more/sytems for sale are kept in the cage locked up in the backroom.

Those must have been some deep pockets or something. Too bad the games didn't fall to the floor on his way out.

I guess it differs from store to store... every one I've ever been in has placed everything for sale out on the shelves.
