And Namco continues to fuel my rage.Doesn't the PS2 have its *own* Tales of... series? Grrr..
a tad wonky but alright. It's the sequel to ToS for Gamecube, but it's coming for the PS2 only.
So play the first on gamecube and play the sequel on PS2
or they could do a 1.5 version for the Original like they did with veiwtiful Joe or somthing...extra content or whatever

I've just about had it with Namco, Konami and Capcom. They all show good faith in the GCN a few times and get very good sales and then stab them in the back.
I have a PS2 but it's a junker so I don't buy new games for it unless I absolutely have to have them. But would it kill them to support GCN a bit more? At least Square-Enix seems to be showing some interest in Nintendo systems... I wonder how long that'll last.
Legacy and loyalty clearly mean nothing in this business because these companies don't give a crap that Nintendo is the reason they succeeded (NES to be exact). Only Sega, Sony, MS, Atari and some companies that weren't around at that time can say otherwise.

it's nothing new, no one is keeping score or vouching for fairness. That's how things were always run. Companies arn't firends, they are partners of convienance, and when there's somthing out there that offers more they break away. I mean look at what happened to Rare and such. Heck Team Ninja broke away from Sony to join X-Box, and now they may end up developing for both of their next gen systems.
No.. Not again... I...
GAH!!!
Almost makes me want to go snap my copy of ToS! I hope Namco tries to make this the best game ever so they spend every dime they have on it, but then its sales flop and Namco goes broke because of it. THEN they'll wish they had been loyal to Nintendo...

I don't see why it would be so hard for them to just make it for both systems.

Tekken is far bigger than ToSOriginally Posted by SuperLuigiBros
and therefore gets a larger budget, as does Ridge Racer and Soul Calibur.
Namco also has the majority of it's titles on other systems. They really didn't develop heavily for just Nintendo to begin with. In Japan ToS had a PS2 version, but that didn't get released in the states...

after looking into it, it's a continuation of Symphonia's style and not the plot. Seems to be no corrolation otherwise.

IIRC, Symphonia was a prequel to a different tales game, which involved the new Mana tree, Yggdrasil.Originally Posted by silverwings

What I dont get (when it comes to all the complaining) is that the Tales series has been on Playstation systems (with exception of Symphonia and Phantasia, though Phantasia got a PSX port).
Tales of Phantasia-SNES and PSX
Tales of Destiney - PSX
Tales of Destiney II - PSX
Symphonia - PS2 (import) and GC
Tales of Rebirth - PS2 (import
Tales of the Abyss - PS2 (import)
It's not like Namco had a blood pact with any particular company. The Tales series seems to sell better on Playstations. They don't want to personally ruin your lives, just make the most money possible.
Everyone just needs to brush up on their whining skills and then we might get a GCN version down the road. Hey, it worked in reverse for RE4.
Another option would be to get everyone to refrain from buying the PS2 version in protest. Of course, we all know that such a thing would never happen.![]()
