I rented Hulk and thought it was terrible. I started to turn green playing it . It isn't 1/10 as fun as Spider-man 2.

I've been playing the game for about a week, little at a time, and the game is awesome. You can harness the abilities of the Hulk in a free roaming world. Anyone else playing this game?

I played a demo in a store today, and it was fun enough to convince me to give it a rental sometime this week...

The sandbox freeplay is really fun, but the story missions are weak. I also found that it is very annoying to get interupted every time I try to pull his charge up attacks. To avoid that sort of thing you have to be consatnly running and jumping which isn't what I would expect form the Hulk. He is essentialy an invincable heroe who doesn't get hurt, just more mad, and therefore stronger. Nothing should be able to stop him, but any flyjocky in a mech can grapple you around like a rag doll. I just think they made him to beatable by average bad guys like mechs when the only challenge for someone of his power should be super bosses. I actually thought that the Bosses in this game were easier and more fun than facing many mechs at ounce and getting juggled between them. At times I found that the gameplay was too chaotic (at least for me) to fight effectively. Ex: getting grappled by multiple mechs while trying to catch missles that swing off and on screen and avoid shots fired by the tanks. I also disliked the movement in this game. Jumping was cool, but once you are in the air you control is limited to a small bursts of speed that often don't outrun the mechs attempting to grab you. God that's annoying! Anyway the only saving grace of this game for me is the free play mode. He's going, going, gone!(street lamp meets cop baseball) For that reason alone it is a worthy rental, but I would never buy it.

Bottom line: If you want an awsome super hero game, buy Spider-man 2 not Hulk. Its cheaper and better.

For once I actually disagree with the guys on G4

    Major bump!

I want to buy a Hulk PS2 game. Which is the better game... the new Incredible Hulk movie game, or the Ultimate Destruction game from a couple years ago?

I really want a game with lots of freedom to run around and smash things!

Ultimate Destruction is awesome. Probably the best comic book game ever, or at least up there near the top. It has some tough spots but it makes up for them with tons of options for smashing.

The first Hulk movie game, by the way, should probably be your third choice. It's playable and worth a rent, but it has these annoying Banner stealth sequences that really slow things down. Being puny, helpless Banner doesn't really sound like what you're looking for.
    And stay out of Riverdale!

Ultimate Destruction. I hesitated on The Incredible Hulk because the reviews say it's a watered down version of UD, but I've been enjoying it a lot so far. I think UD is a shade above it because it's more focused on the fun you can have with Hulk rather than tying into the movie's tone, but both are worth getting if you're as big a Hulk fan as your posts make you out to be.

Still, I'd avoid Hulk. I thought that game was crap. I couldn't even be bothered to finish it - being Hulk just wasn't fun, and the Banner stealth missions were nothing short of a pain in the ass.

I can't comment on the Incredible Hulk, but Ultimate Destruction was so good, it is one of my favorite comic video games. The story is pretty good as is the voice acting. But obviously the appeal is the game play, I remember one time my PS2 crashed near the end of the game because of so much destruction, or at least that whats I like to say. But yea I'd say get Ultimate Destruction if you have to only pick one.

Thanks for the comments everyone! Sounds like U.D. is the winner. I will definitely check it out!
