Developers frustrated with next gen hardware

Yeah, yeah the same thing happens with every new console. I just hope the increased learning curve here doesn't scare off any possible or independent devs.

Although I've never said anything about it here particularly, this is pretty close to what I've been waiting to hear. I know they mention the Xbox360 CPU's too, but more so my low hopes have been towards the cell processor. It's not just the complexity of optimizing the code. Just in general I never expected it to be the end all architecture they made it out to be; which many people still seem to beleive.

I heard that at the first PS3 press release they said it'd be at least three times more powerful than today's average super computer. According to this article that's not true and they will suck. I guess I'll start considering the new Nintendo now instead.
Don't try to fix it if you don't know how to make it.

Hmm is it really saying that? It's basically saying they have no idea if they will suck that it could very well be that developers want to stick with what they know because doing it for the new consoles though eventually doing it better, means a lot more work.
    Don't look at this space.

    ...

Nintendo may have been on to something by having an easy to develop for/looking for indie developers strategy with the Revolution...

At least Nintendo didn't get any flack. I guess being the "less complicated" one will serve some sort of weird advantage.

i was thinking about gettin an Xbox 360 instead of a Revolution, but ehh, not sure anymore. Nintendo is starting to appeal to me a little more recently. I can live without halo 3 i guess.

I'm sorry, but...is it being hard to program the reason you're not buying it? Do you plan on programming a lot of your own games for it? Because otherwise I don't really know how this article would have any affect on your decision on what to purchase...

As for the difficulty--isn't this what developers said about PS2, due to it's backwards compatibility? Doesn't seem to have stopped it's giant library of games any...
