The new GC Zelda to be rated "T"?!

That should silence those who call Zelda "kiddy" Afterall, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was originally going to be rated "T" (and sometimes I still think it should've been)

Does the T mean Tedious? Because that's what the game will be if it's anything like OoT. Of course even if it were like Wind Waker it probably also would be.. the game probably has you travelling by horseback through forests for 10 hours to get from one town to the next dungeon.

This is really old news. It's been known it will be T rated, ever since E3.

Rated T sounds fine to me. I like traveling around the land of Hyrule.

Zelda is a kids game but those kids have grown up so Zelda has somewhat grown up accordingly. Having a T rating doesn't mean much... Smash Bros. and TMNT The Battle Nexus have T ratings, it didn't make them any more mature than a lot of E rated games.

Kids weren't the only ones playing the first Zelda games. I don't think the adults or teens who played great games like Link to the Past complained because Link was a kid. I hear this line of thinking a lot, and it sounds to me like one age group wanting everything to cater to them. Plus, the idea of a game about magic fairies, elves, and pig monsters "growing up" is a little ridiculous to me, but that's a whole 'nother matter.

Ever hear of Lord of the Rings? Faeries, elves, and monsters aren't kid-exclusive.

A T rating isn't exactly uncharted territory for Link. Remeber the GCN version of Soul Calibur II?

All that matters if it's a good game. I think it looks fine, I hope they have a decent story in this one and I beg for more dungeons and less horseback (although some of that would be nice.) Seriously, it was riddiculous in the Wind Waker how often you had to go parasailing, there was barely any dungeons in that game.

Yeah, I figured someone would bring that up. My comment was more of a tangential thing relating to people's complaints about Wind Waker. I understand the thinking, I suppose, but I feel that it's silly to complain that a magical fantasy world isn't mature or realistic-looking enough. But, as I said, that's for another time.

Actually, to continue on the LotR thing, I have one big concern about this game. Judging from screenshots, I think there's a chance it could become a very bland interpretation of a Tolkien fantasy world. In an attempt to make the things described previously more "grown up," I think the game could turn into something that's been done many times before, by many different games.

I think a unique game world like the one in Wind Waker is much more interesting than a "standard fantasy" world like the one in Ocarina of Time, but I realize I'm in the minority here.
