O/T: disturbing Nintendo ad

I saw a TV commercial that really bothered me today. Not only was it Christmas-themed way before Thanksgiving, but it had a really mean message and very little explanation. It's for a video game called "Warioland" (for Game Boy Advance, I believe.) While I get the idea it's a message from Wario, who is the evil version of Mario, it STILL ticked me off.
In this live action commercial,we see a busy shopping mall, with a disgruntled, dirty, bell-ringing Salvation Army santa, who looks around, sees a dollar bill in his collection bucket, and pockets it. We then here a voice saying "'tis the season to be greedy!" I'm sure that has something to do with the game, but associating Christmas with greed is really a low thing to do in any sense, and doing it with a charity santa is even worse...has anyone else seen this?

Actually, I thought the commercial was quite funny. You probably saw the shortened version. The extended version has it turning out to be Wario's mall, where he encourages his workers and customers to be greedy. We also see a lady taking a whole plate of french fries from a sample lady's table, and a little girl tossing a half-dollar coin into the fountain (a Wario one) and fifty people running to grab it. The extended one doesn't have the "'Tis the Season to be Greedy" line it it, though.

Its a very funny commerical. All of the GBA commericals are good.

--dark humor. It's humorous because it's very over-the-top, exaggerated, bizarre, surreal, and hopefully people don't really behave like that. Sort of like Very Bad Things. (No, wait, I rather hated that movie. Never mind.)

Is it advertising WarioLand 4? If it is, the commerical for it in the UK is very different. We have this cool claymation one, showing Wario getting hurt in various ways: "He gets stung *bee stings him, face bloats up* "he gets squashed" *gets squashed by a giant mallet* "he gets bitten" *gets bit by a bat, turns into vampire and flies around* "that is, when he's not getting frozen or set on fire of course" *footage from the game* "I tell ya, playing the bad guy isn't easy" *shot of Wario driving off with loads of gold* "WarioLand 4 for GameBoy Advance"

Yes, we're talking about the Wario Land 4 game. That's an interesting commercial, I'd like to see it.

That commercial does sound neat. You European folks get all the good commercials... the David Lynch PS2 commercials blew me away when I downloaded them.
