Nintendo DS, Sony PSP... um... Nokia's N-Gage?

    Like This Thread!
I'm just curious, has the world completely forgot about the N-Gage?

Usually, it's obvious when a system dies. The NES had it's final game in Wario Woods. The Dreamcast died, well, when they announced it died. When Street Fighter Alpha 2 came out for the SNES, it was pretty much over. And the Genesis getting a port of Virtua Fighter? Jump the shark.

Just, what is the sign of the N-Gage's end? Are they getting a port of The Urbz or something?

Nokia's still pimping the crap out of it via television ads, so I assume it won't be officially dying TOO terribly soon.

Despite the TV exposure, though, as far as the general public is concerned it may as well never have existed. I still have yet to see one, in stores or in use around town. If it ever comes up in conversation outside the Internet (usually because my friends and I happen to see a commercial for it on TV), a good nine out of ten people haven't heard of it.

They might try to make one last ditch effort for the holiday season and then wrap it up. My guess is that they'll keep running the existing TV ads, drop the price, and make a few promotional deals (like getting free games with the purchase of a system) until the end of January. After that, I imagine Nokia would have to officially declare the system dead.

There is simply no hope. Even without the DS and PSP on the horizon, the second N-Gage would probably fail. But considering the DS and PSP... it's just a completely lost cause. A phenomenal waste of economic space.

All they can really do is maybe make one more good mulitplayer game, drop the price to $50 or less and begin pimping it out as a telephone/game device/doomsday device.

After that they stop making it and act like it never happened.

The funny thing is about the 9 out of 10 ratio is.... Aabout 75 out of 100 don't care for the N-Gage, 4 own an N-Gage, and the rest buy the roms off eBay for $25.

Yeah, the Game Boy Advance was killing the Nokia N-Gage by itself; the release of the PSP and the Nintendo DS are going to be the death toll for it.

I'm sorry but that thing was dead even before it died.
