I'm partial to IV because I played it before VI, however since this is a multiple vote poll I'll go with both.

If we want to get technical the SNES version of IV is the easy version where as the chronicals version is the hard version...
besides 5 doesn't count, There was no SNES in Japan....it was called by another name...
Oh you just had to make it technical. Tsk Tsk.Originally Posted by Artimus Gigan

Seiken Densetsu 1 was for Gameboy. I prefer Seiken Densetsu 3. The Seiken Densetsu series isn't related to FF's story line, buy was supposed to have been in the FF series. Mystic Quest is to damn easy.Originally Posted by Lord Dalek

You mean Super Famicom. Famicom stood for Family Computer if none of ya know.
As for which one, well, I suppose FFVI since that's the only one on the SNES I played alot of, even though I;'ve never beaten it or got too close to the end.
SD is the official spinoff franchise so it counts. And despite it being rediculously easy, Mystic Quest was (unfortunetly) a Final Fantasy game.Originally Posted by AnimeSage

FF3 is the best. :anime:
3. Definitely 3.
FF2 (4) was alright, but still kinda generic with the medieval characters and evil armored villain. FF5 was similar, but with better main characters.
FF3 (6) took a step towards maturing the series, although it was before things got a little too "gritty" (note the quotation marks) with FF7.
No more overdone crystal storyline.
No more super-generic villain; Kefka was pretty one-dimensional in his desire to take over the world, but he had a LOT more character.
It had a more original, pseudo-medieval (instead of just medieval) setting.
The characters were more interesting; they didn't spend as much time developing them as in the later games, but perhaps that's not always a bad thing. And there were minor characters, to be sure, but the main cast was pretty strong.
To top it all off, the graphics were beautiful, and really looked like works of art instead of square map tiles and blocky characters. And the music is still the best of the series so far, and really the best of video games in general.

THIS MONTH'S UPDATE: Christmas Countdown! 25 Christmas songs of interest.
I agree that FF5 shouldn't be on the poll. It asked for the best American FF for SNES, but FF5 was never on the US SNES, so how could it be on the poll?
FF3, hands down. Excellent graphics and soundtrack and gameplay. Shame it was slightly watered-down from FF6 since there were a few more mature element sin it orginially.

Well, since the question is "What's the best FF game for the SNES?" I would say Fatal Fury deserves some attention.![]()
My pick, however, is Final Fantasy III (IV)
